CASADY, 1965 JACKSON ,STREET. <br />THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS EXPLAINED THAT SIDEWALKS ARE CURRENTLY IN EXISTENCE <br />ON JACKSON STREET BETWEEN 19TH AND 20TH AVENUES IN THE CENTER OF THE BLOCK ONLY <br />o <br />ON BOTH SIDES OF THE STREET, AND THAT IF SIDEWALKS WERE TO BE INSTALLED TO COM- <br />PLETE THIS ONE BLOCK AREA, THE NEW SIDEWALKS WOULD FRONT FOUR LOTS ON ONE SIDE <br />OF THE STREET AND FIVE LOTS ON THE OTHER SI DE OF. THE STREET. ' IT WAS, ALSO PO I NTED <br />OUT THAT THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT IS SURVEYING THIS AREA TO DETERMINE THE <br />SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION NECESSARY TO PROPERLY PROVIDE SIDEWALKS FOR THE WHOLE AREA, <br />BUT AT THIS TIME, THEY ARE NOT READY TO REPORT. <br /> <br />IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THIS ITEM BE HELD OVER AND BROOGMT BACK TO THE COMMITTEE <br />JUST AS SOON AS THE BALANCE OF THE SIDEWALK PROGRAM IN THIS AREA IS DETERMINED. <br /> <br />No ACTION WAS TAKEN ON ITEM I' OF THE REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE AND THE'MATTER WAS HELD IN <br />COMMITTEE. <br /> <br />2. REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF CURB CUT AT 95 EAST IBTH AVENUE ENTERED BY DoN LOWERY - <br />IT WAS REPORTED THAT A LETTER HAD BEEN RECEIVED FROM MR. DON LOWERY Of" DON'S DRIVE <br />IN LOCATED AT 95 EAST 18TH AVENUE IN WHICH HE REQUESTED THAT WIDER CURB CUTS BE <br />ALLOWED AT HIS PLACE OF BUSINESS TO FACILITATE CUSTOMERS' ENTERING AND LEAVING <br />THE DRIVE IN BOTH AT PRESENT AND WHEN THE PROPOSED TRAFFIC DIVIDER ON EAST 18TH <br />AVENUE IS INSTALLED. IT WAS EXPLAINED THAT THE EXISTING CURB CUTS AT THIS DRIVE <br />IN ARE NOT OF MAXIMUM SIZE AND COULD READILY BE ENLARGED. FOLLOWING SOME DISCUSSION <br />ON THIS MATTER, THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT THE REQUESTED EXTENSION TO THE CURB <br />CUTS BE GRANTED AND THAT PROPER INGRESS AND EGRES~ AT THE DRIVE I~ BE DETERM~NED <br />BY THE TRAFFIC ENGINEER. <br /> <br />IT WAS MOVED BY MR.
