"fiRST I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK THE PEOPLE OF
WARD THREE fOR ACCORDING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE ON THE CITY COUNCIL
fOR THE PAST TWO YEARS, AND TO THE MANY PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE CITY fOR
THEIR VERY FINE SUPPORT.

DUE TO THE LARGE AREA, J HAVE TO COVER IN MY NEW BUSINESS, IT HAS
BECOME IM~OSSIBLE FOR ME TO DEVOTE THE TIME TO COUNCIL WORK THAT I rEEL
IS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB.

I REALIZE I WAS ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE TO A FOUR YEAR TERM, AND, rOR
THAT REASON I HAVE GIVEN THIS MOVE EVERY SERIOUS CONSIDERATION.

I COULD CONTINUE BY MERELY ATTENDING COUNCIL MEETINGS, AND WITHOUT
'THE NECESSARY TIME TO ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE OF BOTH SIDES OF THE ISSUES,
JUST VOTE ON A "GO ALONG WITH THE BREEZE" BASIS, BUT I WON'T DO BUSINESS
THAT WAY, AND I AM SURE THE PEOPLE OF EUGENE WOULDN'T WANT ME TO.

IT HAS BEEN A PRIVILEGE AND A PLEASURE TO SERVE ON THE COUNCIL AND
SO IT IS WITH DEEP REGRET THAT I TENDER MY RESIGNATION, EfrECTIVE UPON'
ACCEPTANCE."
