I, <br /> INTRODUCTION OF NEW BUSINESS Ii <br /> II <br /> COUNCILMAN WILSON MADE ,I <br />I INQUIRY AS TO WHETHER THE CITY OF EUGENE HAS ANY COMFORT FACILITIES IN II e <br /> THE PARK BLOCKS AREA IN THE VICINITY OF THE NEW COURTHOUSE. IN ANSWER TO THIS IT WAS EXPLAINED THAT Ii <br /> THE CITY fORMERLY PARTICIPATED WITH THE COUNey IN THE OPERATION OF THE COMfORT STATION BUT THAT WITH I' <br /> THE MODERNIZATION OF THE PARK BLOCKS THIS STATION HAD BEEN REMOVED AND COMFORT FACILITIES WERE MADE Ii <br /> AVAILABLE IN THE BASEMENT Of THE MEETING HALL STRUCTURE IMMEDIATELY SOUTH Of THE COURTHOUSE. MR. <br /> WILSON THEN INDICATED THAT HE HAD RECEIVED SOME COMPLAINTS fROM SENIOR CITIZENS AS TO THE LACK Of Ii <br /> COMFORT fACILITIES AND THE FACT THAT THE EXISTING COUNTY fACILITIES ARE LOCKED ON WEEKENDS, EVENINGS I: <br /> AND HOLIDAYS AND THAT IT REQUIRES CITIZENS TO GO TO THE BASEMENT LEVEL BY STAIRWAY WHEN THE COUNTY II I <br /> I COMfORT STATION IS OPEN. 'I <br /> II <br /> IT WAS MOVED BY MR. WILSON SECONDED BY MR. MCGAffEY THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE INSTRUCTED TO <br /> WRITE A LETTER TO THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. REQUESTING THAT THE PUBLIC REST ROOMS LOCATED IN THE Ii <br /> BASEMENT Of THE MEETING HALL BE KEPT OPEN ON WEEK ENDS, EVENINGS AND HOLIDAYS ON THE SAME BASIS Ii <br /> AS THE OLD COMfORT STATION WAS KEPT OPEN. HE SUGGESTED THAT COPIES Of THE NORTH CAROLINA STATUTES BE OBTAINED II <br /> 1 TOGETHER WITH COPIES Of PUBLIC MANAGEMENT CONTAINING ARTICLES ON ANNEXATION, AND THAT THESE BE SUP- <br /> PLIED TO THE LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION fROM LANE COUNTY fOR THEIR INFORMATION.
