<br />HOUSING LEASE - IT WAS EXPLAINED THAT THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON IS REQUESTING
<br />A CHANGE OF WORDING IN ARTICLE III OF THE LEASE BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE
<br />UNIVERSITY OF OREGON ON THE SKINNERS BUTTE HOUSING PROJECT. THE UNIVERSITY OF
<br />OREGON OBJECTED TO THIS PARTICULAR ARTICLE BECAUSE IT ENTITLED EITHER PARTY
<br />TO CANCEL THE LEASE UPON GIVING THE OTHER 90 DAYS NOTICE IN WRITING. IT WAS
<br />THE FEELING OF THE UNIVERSITY PEOPLE THAT 90 DAYS IS NOT SUFFICIENT TIME IN
<br />WHICH TO VACATE THE PROEERTY AND FIND OTHER HOUSING fOR THE STUDENTS. THE
<br />COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT THE WORDING OF ARTICLE III BE CHANGED TO READ
<br />THAT EITHER PARTY TO THE LEASE SHALL HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF CANCELING THE
<br />SAME UPON GIVING ONE YEARS NOTICE IN WRITING TO THE OTHER. MOTION CARRIED
