<br />AND HAZEl.L. DECKER - IT WAS INDICATED THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION HAD

<br />FROM HAWKINS LANE ON THE WEST TO WILSON STREET ON THE EAST BE RENAMED
<br />24TH AVENUEJ AND THAT THAT PORTION OF CITY VIEW BOULEVARD FROM THE SOUTH
<br />END.OF WILSON STREET AS PLATTED IN HIGHLAND OAKS SUBDIVISION ON THE SOUTH

<br />CIAL LICENSE AT MAHLON SWEET AIRPORT - IT WAS EXPLAINED THAT MR. H. B. PERSON
<br />ON BEHALF OF EMERALD AIRCRAF"T SALES, INC., HAD SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION FOR
<br />A COMMERCIAL OPERATORS LICENSE AT MAHLON SWEET AIRPORT. IT WAS FURTHER EX-
<br />PLAINED THAT SECTION 4.11 OF THE EUGENE CITY CODE REQUIRES A COMMERCIAL OPERA-
<br />TOR TO PAY AN OCCUPATIONAL TAX TO BE BASED ON 5% OF" THE GROSS INCOME DERIVED FROM
<br />THE PLANES AND SERVICES SO LICENSED. WITH RESPECT TO THE OTHER COMMERCIAL ENTER-
<br />PRISE ON MAHLON SWEET AIRPORT, GREEN FLYING SERVICE, BY AGREEMENT THE 5% OCCU-
<br />PATIONAL TAX HAS BEEN WAIVED. WITH THE NEW APPLICATION BY EMERALD AIRCRAFT
<br />SALES, INC., THERE IS NOW A QUESTION AS TO THE F'EE WHICH SHOULD BE CHARGED.
<br />THE COMMITTEE CONSIDERED THE MATTER AND SOME OBJECTIONS WERE RAISED TO THE 5%
<br />TAX. THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THIS MATTER BE REF'ERRED TO THE AIRPORT COM-
<br />MISSION F"OR STUDY. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

<br />II. DISCUSSION REGARDING POSSIBLE HELICOPTER SERVICE fROM THE DOWNTOWN AREA TO
<br />MAHLON SWEET AIRPORT - THERE WAS SOME DISCUSSION ON THE POSSIBILITY OF HELI-
<br />COPTER SERVICE FROM DOWNTOWN TO THE AIRPORT BEING INSTITUTED,. AND IT WAS
<br />RECOMMENDED THE AIRPORT COMMISSION INVESTIGATE THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH SER-
<br />VICE. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
