KNOX OF BENNETT'S COMMUNITY BUILDERS, THE <br />COUNCIL AGAIN CONSIDERED A LETTER REGARDING CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE CORNER <br />OF 3RD AND FERRY DESCRIBED AS PART OF lOTS I, 4 AND 5 IN BLOCK 6, ORIGINAL PLAT Of <br />CITY Of EUGENE, LYING WESTERLY OF THE EUGENE COBURG ROAD. TH~ LETTER FURTHER STIPULATED <br />THAT BENNETT'S COMMUNITY BUILDERS HAD AN OFFER TO LEASE THIS PROPERTY FOR A PERIOD OF <br />FIVE YEARS, GIVING THE AUTHORITY TO TH~ CITY TO TERMINATE THE LEASE UPON ONE YEAR'S <br />NOTICE AT A RENTAL RATE OF $500 EACH YEAR. A PROPOSED LAYOUT <br />OF THE BEAUTifICATION PROJECT FOR THfS LOT WAS SHOWN, ANDTHE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THE <br />ADMINISTRATION PROCEED WITH THE LANDSCAPING AND PLACEMENT OF A SIGN IN CONNECTION WITH <br />THE EUGENE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, IF THEY WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE <br />GENERAL PLAN PROPOSED BY THE PARK AND RECREAFION,DEPARTMENT AND VIEWED BY THE COUNCIL. <br />MOTION CARRIED, MESSRS. CONSIDERATION OF BIDS ON SEWER RODDER - IT WAS STATED THAT ON NOVEMBER 17, 1960 BIDS HAD <br />BEEN RECEIVED ON A: SEWER RODDER. FOLLOWING THE RECEIPT OF THE BIDS THE PUBLIC WORKS DE- <br />PARTMENT HAD MADE AN INVESTIGATION. Two FIRMS WHO WERE BIDDING ON THIS. EQUIPMENT WERE <br />REQUESTED TO FURNISH LISTS OF OWNERS Of THEIR EQUIPMENT, AND A QUESTIONNAIRE WAS SENT <br />TO THE OWNERS Of THE EQUIPMENT. OUT Of 45 QUESTIONNAIRES, 38 REPLIES WERE RECEIVED. THE <br />QUESTIONNAIRE INDICATED THAT THE STEWART RIDDER BID BY AIR-MAC, INC., WHICH HAS A RUBBER <br />TIRE DRIVE, PRESENTED PROBLEMS WITH SLIPPAGE WITH GREASE AND OIL IN SEWERS, ON OCCASIONS <br />THE TIRES HAD TO BE WIPED, IN HEAVY GREASE THE TIRES HAVE TO BE SANDED, IF THERE IS NO <br />TREAD ON THE TIRES THERE IS SLIPPAGE, TIRES NEED REPLACEMENT FREQUENTLY.
