Change Order City Hall - Mr. Ben Larson of the staff of Morin & Longwood presented a change ord~r request for theinst"al-lat.ion of ad well- t,o -b~ used in connection w1th the Civil Defense' section, being insi:a1ted in the basement of .thenew City Hall.' Mr. Larson stated they ar~ seeking permission'_for the installation of this well since'"large tanks will b~ needed to be installed for' the storage of water in connection with the Civil D~fense unit, and it would be, much simpler to install them at- this time: -Mr. Larson ?lso stated that the approximat~ cost oCthe in- stallation of the well and a pump would be $3,500.00. " Dr. Purdy moved seconded by'Mrs. Lauris to approve the reconunehdation of the City Mana- ger for' the ,installation of the well near the Civil Defense section.. Motion carried. - - I e 2 2. Property Purchase, Polk Street Pumping Statwn - The Public Wor~s De-" partment reconunended that approxima~ely 2341.27 square feet of I.and. be, - . purchased for $585.28 from Jule and Stewart Gum which would protect ,. the installation of a special structure connecti ng the 66" and 72" sewers in the vicinity of oPolk Street pumping station.. Mr..Chr.istensen moved seconded by Mr. Chatt:to approve the purchase of the property. Motion carried. 3 3. Curb Sidewalk, Monroe from 24th to 25th - The Public; ,Works Department I reconunended approval of a request for curb sidewalk location only on - Monroe Street from 24th to . 25th Avenue in view'of::tiie topography at that location. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by,Mrs;>Lau:ds to approve the recommendation and grant the curb sidewalk loca~ion. Motion carried. - Mrs. Lauris moved.seconded by'Mr. Swanson .that It~ms 1, 2, and. 3 of the"Conunittee re- port be approved. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present ~voting aye, motion carried. . 4 4.Paving and sewers Arrow Subdivision ~ A petition was presented for pav--' ing and sewers :in the Arrow Subdivision, on Patterson Street from 40th Avenue south, carrying 50% of the ftont footage ,of the properti~s to be assessed~ However, one of the owners who had deeded the east half of the r:Cght-of-way for: Patterson Street had construct'ed a 'carport whicn extended into the right-of-way. This would have to be resolved before .. the street could be paved. 'Mr.Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Hawk to ap- prove the.request for paving and sewer subject to the clearance of the right-of-way. , Mot ion carried, Messrs. Christensen and D~verell'voting no. .. Paving Grant fiom 17th north to Amazon: Creek: - A request for paving Grant Street from:17th Avenue north to Amazon Creek was received bearing sig.natures of owners of 66% of -the total front footage .of the property' to be assessed.
