Annexation Lematta Estates - The Planning Commission recommended th~t <br /> ~ <br /> 00 an area west of Norkenzie Road and north of Beltline Road be annexed <br /> to the City subject to notifying the petitioner that sewers may not be <br /> provided to all of the property and that no priority now exists for ex- <br /> tending the sewer to any of the property. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by <br /> Mr. Swanson to approve the annexation, and that the property owners be <br /> e notified concerning the sewer priority. Motion carried. <br /> 2 9. Planning Commission Report - November 12, 1963 <br /> a. Official Meeting Dates, Planning Commission - The Planning Commission <br /> recommended that they meet the first Tuesday of the month, plus the <br /> following Monday, thence the Monday two weeks following the second Mon- <br /> day. These would be legally constituted meetings of the Planning Com- <br /> I mission. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve the meeting <br /> dates for the Planning Commission. Motion carried. <br /> 3 10: Liquor License Renewal Applications <br /> a. D&D Market, 18th Avenue, Package Store Class B - Dr. Purdy moved seconded <br /> by Mr. Swanson to approve the application. Motion carried. <br /> b. Temple Broiler, 135 East 6th, Class B Dispensers, Eugene N. Vogel - A <br /> letter was read addressed to Mr. Eugene N. Vogel from Chief of Police <br /> Ellsworth asking that the Temple Broiler exercise some additional con- <br /> trols over some of their patrons. The Police Department recommended <br /> approval of the license application. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by <br /> Mr. Swanson to approve the application of the Temple'Broiler. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that Items 5 through 10 of the Committee re- <br /> port be. approved. Motion carried. <br /> 4 11. Subdivision Storm Sewer Policy - A preliminary statement was made by the <br /> City Manager outlining the problem and asking for comments from representa- <br /> tives of the building trades who were present. Messrs. Ken Gil bert, Craw- <br /> ford Lyle, Jim Breeden, and Jacobson, representing themselves and the build- <br /> ing trades, spoke suggesting that perhaps a levy or assessment could be made <br /> on a square foot basis for the installation of storm sewers in new subdivi- <br /> I s io ns, suggesting that this method which would be similar to the one in <br /> effect at the present time which levies 1/2-cent per square foot for sani- <br /> tary sewers might be more~uitable than assessing property owners on a <br /> front foot msis. After a discussion period involving the Director of <br /> Public Works and Mr. Howard'Buford of the Planning Commission and the <br /> Council, Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris asking the staff <br /> to do a study on the problem and make a report and recommendation early <br /> in January. Motion carried." <br /> e Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that Item 11 of the Committee report be re- <br /> ceived and placed on ~ile. Motion carried. <br /> LICENSES <br /> S The following applications were submitted for renewal of liquor license applica- <br /> tions as approved by the Police Department: <br /> Retail Malt Beverage Class A - Friendly Tavern, 1667 West 6th <br /> Robinson's Cafe, 550 East 13th <br /> Retail Malt Beverage Class A <br /> and Package Store Class B - Bill Ross Tavern, 958 Oak <br /> Package Store Class A - Custom Meat Co., 577 Pearl <br /> I Package Store Class B - Fairfield Market, Inc. , 1695 West 11th <br /> Thrifty Drug Store, 194 West Broadway <br /> Bean's Basket Grocery, 34 East 10th <br /> Oakway Market, Renewal adding wife's name <br /> 12/9/63 - 7 <br /> e <br /> ~ <br />
