Ordinance, Sale of: Used Merchandise - The City.Manager presented a sample <br />ordinance referring to. the keeping of certain: records to be submitted by <br />firms: reporting the purchase and sale oE firearms~ radios, television sets, t~n <br />typewriters, adding machines,: recording machines,: tape recording machines, <br />cameras,. picture projectors:, musical instruments indEmtified by number. <br />Mrs'dLauris moved seconded by .Mr. Christensen to submit the ordinance to <br />the Council meeting.. Motion carried. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Several members of the local rifle association were present. and protested the wording <br />of the proposed ordinance on the sale of used merchandise, as one of the items men- <br />tioned in the ordinance is' the purchase and: sale: of firearms. Leaving Minor Children in Autos. - The: City Manager. read a sample <br />: ordinance which would make it unlawful to leave a: minor child' of certain '. <br />age in.an una~tended or locked motor vehicle. Mr. Christensen: moved seconded <br />by Mr. Chatt'to approve' the submission of the ordinance at the regular Councl1 <br />meeting. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />8. Ordinance~ .Appointment of Gas Inspector - The: City Manager read a sample <br />ordinance which would allow for the appointment of gas inspector or in- <br />spectors for the City of Eugene with the duties and responsibilities <br />to be .supervised. by someone des.i.gn.ated .by. .the Ci.ty.M;~nager_;. ~nd. .r~p'e~l.- <br />. ing certain_ sections of. the. present CitYdCode, and providing also that a <br />$3.00 fee may be ~har~ed..fQr in~tallation.of gas piping separately.frpm <br />appliances installation. Ordinance;.Fee for Easement Vacation: - The. City Manager read a sample <br />ordinance pertaining to a deposit fee of $75.00 accompanying a petition <br />for the vacation of an easement. : Mr.. Chatt moved seconded by.Mr .Christen- <br />sen to approve presentation of the ordinance to amend the present Code and <br />provide for a fee for easement vacation petition. Mr. Chatt moved seconded <br />by Mrs. Lauris,to approve the 'presentation of the.proposed ordinance at <br />a Council meeting. The City Manager stated:.:that <br />bids had previously been opened 'for furnishing.'of ,furniture and other <br />items in the new City Hall, the total amount being approximately $69,000.00. <br />It was also: pointed: out that this figure is approximately $20,000.00 more <br />than the. amouI).t set aside in the build ing. px:ogram for'. the purchase of <br />furniture and furnishings.
