Southern Pacific - The Southern Pacific Company <br />had submitted copies of an agreement for the construction of a rail- <br />road crossing on 5th Avenue between McKinley and Wilson Streets. The <br />Public Works Department had reviewed the agreement and recommended <br />approval. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Hawk to approve the agree- <br />ment. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Item 9 of the Committee report. <br />Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />10. Control Tower Operation. FAA. Mahlon Sweet - A letter had been received <br />from the Federal Aviation Agency and was read by the City Manager con- <br />cerning the completion of the station and tower at Mahlon Sweet in time <br />for the dedication ceremony for the new terminal building. The letter <br />stated that the schedule did not seem to foresee completion of the in- <br />stallation until October 15, 1964. The letter was received and filed." <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that Item 10 of the Committee report be re- <br />ceived and placed on file. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />The City Manager stated a plaque approximately l6"x48" would be developed and placed <br />in the new City Hall building with the names of the Mayor and members of the Council <br />upon it for approximately $200. No action was taken. <br /> <br />LICENSES <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />An application for a Retail Malt Beverage Class B liquor license was submitted by <br />John S. and Pauline S. Reeves dba Webfoot Lanes, 2486 Willamette Street (change of <br />ownership - formerly New U-Bowl, Inc.), approved by the Police Department.. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the application be approved. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />ORDINANCES <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />Council Bill No. 6511 - Levying assessments for curb and sidewalk on south side of Cheshire Avenue <br />from Lincoln Street to Lawrence Street, submitted and read the first time in full on March 9, 1964 and <br />held over for proper notice of assessment to be given owners of affected property, was brought back for <br />consideration with no written protests on file. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the council bill be read the second time by council bill <br />number only,;with unanimous consent of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and the council bill <br />was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the bill be read the third time by council bill number <br />only, with unanimous consent of the Council.
