Southern Pacific - The Southern Pacific Company had submitted copies of an agreement for the construction of a rail- road crossing on 5th Avenue between McKinley and Wilson Streets. The Public Works Department had reviewed the agreement and recommended approval. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Hawk to approve the agree- ment. Motion carried. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Item 9 of the Committee report. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. 2 10. Control Tower Operation. FAA. Mahlon Sweet - A letter had been received from the Federal Aviation Agency and was read by the City Manager con- cerning the completion of the station and tower at Mahlon Sweet in time for the dedication ceremony for the new terminal building. The letter stated that the schedule did not seem to foresee completion of the in- stallation until October 15, 1964. The letter was received and filed." Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that Item 10 of the Committee report be re- ceived and placed on file. Motion carried. 3 The City Manager stated a plaque approximately l6"x48" would be developed and placed in the new City Hall building with the names of the Mayor and members of the Council upon it for approximately $200. No action was taken. LICENSES 4 An application for a Retail Malt Beverage Class B liquor license was submitted by John S. and Pauline S. Reeves dba Webfoot Lanes, 2486 Willamette Street (change of ownership - formerly New U-Bowl, Inc.), approved by the Police Department.. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the application be approved. Motion carried. ORDINANCES 5 Council Bill No. 6511 - Levying assessments for curb and sidewalk on south side of Cheshire Avenue from Lincoln Street to Lawrence Street, submitted and read the first time in full on March 9, 1964 and held over for proper notice of assessment to be given owners of affected property, was brought back for consideration with no written protests on file. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the council bill be read the second time by council bill number only,;with unanimous consent of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and the council bill was read the second time by council bill number only. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the bill be read the third time by council bill number only, with unanimous consent of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read the third time by council bill number only. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the bill be approved and given final passage. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, the bill was declared passed-and numbered 13359. 6 Council Bill No. 6512 - Levying assessments for sidewalk on west side of Willamette Street from 29th Avenue to 32nd Avenue, submitted and read the first time in full on March 9, 1964 and held over for proper notice of assessment to be given owne~s of affected property, was brought back for considera- tion with no written protests on file. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the bill be read the second time by council bill number only, with ~nanimous consent of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read the second time by council bill number only.
