r52 e 6/8/64 I In response to questions from the committee, the Public Works Director. pointed "out with regard to the sewers on Coburg Road ,that thed bids' were higher than the .estimate because of the difficulty:of the job, part:icularly because of high risks in excavation, and he rec'ommended that "the low'bid on this project be accepted rather than call for new bids since new bids may he higher :yet. 1 15. Mr. Swanson: moved. seccmded' by Mr.Chatt t"o approve the r:e'conunenda- tion. Motion carried. e 2 16. Parking Restr:iction. west :side of Oak.- south of 29th _: The Traffic Engineer reconunended that no parking be permitted for a distance. of 10,0 fee"t south of 29th Avenue: on th'e west side of Oak Street in order to provide safer ingress and egress to and" from: Top:per' s: Steak House, and: he also noted that suf:ficient 'off:-str"eet:: parking has been provided by. the restaurant. Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Mr. Swanson,to approve the recommenda- tion. Motion catried. I 3 17., Oversize Curb Cut. 5th between Chambers "and Grant. Star L'umber/Knut:son - Mr. Knutson: reque'sted an oversize curb cut at this location because log trucks using the scaling platform would otherwise have to drive over a full height curb. The Public Works Department had no objection to the request. Mr. Deverell moved seconded by Mr. Crakes: to approve the request, prov.ided: a valley:-type reinforced gutter is constructea. Motion carried. II Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that Items 7: through 17 of the Cominittee report be approved. Motion car.ried.
