Annexation of area at 18th and City View, Keating -'This annexation petition had been withdrawn. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Items lOa and lOb of the Committee report. Motion carried, Mr. Christensen voting no. 2 11. Leave of Absence, Betty Niven - Mrs. Betty Niven, a member of the Plan- ning Commission, had written a letter to Mayor Cone asking for an ex- tended leave of assence from her duties with the Planning Commission tit from approximately September 10, 1964 to June 1, 1965. Mr.Christensen moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to receive the request ana place it on file. Motion carried. 3 12. Road Dedication Leaburg Canal (EWEB) - The Eugene Water & Electric Board requested execution of a deed dedicating to Lane County for road pur- poses a strip of lana approximately 10 feet by 875 feet which is part of I the Leaburg Canal right-of-way and located in Government lots 3 and 4 of Section 31, T16S, R2E, W.M. Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to authorize the requested deed. Motion carried. 4 13. Assignment of Easement, Bonneville Power Administration (EWEB) - The Eugene Water & Electric Board requested execution of an Assignemtn.and Grant of an EWEB easement to Bonneville Power Administration for con- struction of a tap to the BPA line south of Dillard Substation. Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to authorize executi<!m of the Assignment and Grant as requested. Motion carried. 5 14. Paving and Sanitary Sewers in King's Way Park (east of Gilham Road north of Jeppeson Acres Road) - This was petitioned by owners of 100% of the total front footage 0f the properties to be assessed for the paving and sewers. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to approve the petition. Motion carried. 6 15. Airport Terminal Building Dedication Committee - It was recommended that the Mayor appoint a committee for the dedication of the Airport terminal building. The Mayor indicated he would do this at a later date. 7 16. City Symbol - Discussion of a possible change in the City's Seal and de- sign for use as a City Shield and letterhead was discussed, with two samples being shown of designs submitted by-two designers. The Counc il I suggested that a few more designs be obtained if possible before a de- cision is made." Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Items 11 through 16 of the Commit- tee report. Motion carried. ORDINANCES 8 Council Bill No. 6698 - Withdrawing from Bethel Park District that area annexed to the City by e election on January 7, 1964 (Bethel-Danebo) was submitted and read in full. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the bill be read the sec~nd time by council bill number only, with unanimous consent of the Council. Motion carri~d unanimously and the bill was read the second time by council bill number only. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the rules be suspended aqd the bill read the third time by council bill number only, with u~animous consent of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read the third time by counc~l bill number only. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the bill be approved and .given final passage. Rollca~l vote. All councilmen present voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered 13542. 9 Council Bill No. 6699 - Dispensing with election in City concerning annexati~n of area west of Willamette Street and north of 52nd Avenue (Associated Properti~s) was submitted and read in full.
