<br />The adjourned meeting of the' Common Councii of th'e City of Eugene', Oregon - adjourned from the
<br />meeting held June 22, 1964 - was called to order in the Council Chamber at 7:30 p.m. PDT on June 29,
<br />1964 by His Hono.r Mayor Edwin E. Cone with. the following councilmen present: Mrs. Lauris, .Messrs.
<br />Chatt, Deverell, Purdy, and Hawk. Councilmen S~anson, Christensen, and Crakes were absent.

<br />1 1964-65 Budget - The City Manager explaine~ three other changes in the 196~-65 b~dge~ - An increase of
<br />$1500 in the Revenues section for Bicycle Licenses; an increase of $1500 in the Expenditures section for
<br />Fin'ance Department, Printing and Binding; and an increase' for ov'ertime' pay because of. the. Eugene Pl~n-.
<br />ing Mill fire: $1000 in the Fire Department, and $19~.26 ii the Polic~ Department, Spe~ial S~rvic~s~

<br />2 Council Bill No.. 6697 - Adopting 1964-65 City budget and leyyin~ tax i? the amount of $2,890,600 wa~
<br />submitted and read in full.

<br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the bill be read the second time by council bill number
<br />only, with unanimous consent, of the Council. Motion carried una?~mous~y and the bill was read the
<br />second time by council bill number only. I

<br />by council bill number only, with unanimous consent of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and

<br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the bill be approved and given final passage. Rollcall
<br />vote. All councilmen present voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered 13564.

<br />3 Amendment Civil Servic'e. Cod~e - ,'The 'City Manager 'stated a conferenc.e had: bee.n held between :representa-
<br />tives of. the Fy-efighters' Association, chairman of the Civil Service .commission, ~he C:ity At,torney, and
<br />himself with the result that an agreement had been reached regarding the employment of three Bethel-
<br />Danebo Fire and Water District employes by the Eugene Fire Department. It was understood that certifi-
<br />cates of health' would be on file" from doctors concerning each of'the three'men, that they would tak~ an
<br />examinati.on aft,er two weeks of traini,ng, and that they would: be under the .12-month p~obatio!1ary period

<br />requested a 5-year lease or purchase of property at the northwest corner of' 3rd Aven~e and Ferry Street

<br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr: Chatt to approve a 5-year lease to the Eugene Moving & Storage Company.

<br />Council meeting on July 13, 1964. Motion carried. I

<br />right-of-way for Coburg Road widening: .
