Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Hawk to approve. Item 2 of the Committee report. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 1 3. Planning Commission Report - October 6. 1964 <br /> a. Variance to allow physical therapy office in residence at 1468 <br /> West 11th. Maddux (64-128) - The Planning Commission recommended <br /> denial of ~he requested variance. Mr. Swanson. moved seconded by <br /> Dr. Purdy to deny the variance! Motion carried. <br /> e 2 b. Variance to allow addition to grocery store at 295 West 17th. <br /> Mayfield (64-126) - The Planning Commission recommended approval <br /> of the variance, recognizing the nonconfor~ing use status of the <br /> store. Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve the <br /> variance. Motion carried. <br /> I 3 c. Rezone to R-3G area at southwest corner of Coburg Road and northern <br /> end of Pioneer Pike. Sarah Land Co. (Weaver) (64-132) - This re- <br /> quested rezoning from R-l Single Family is to allow. construction <br /> of a small residential-type dental office. A letter from Sarah <br /> Land Company was read in which th~y requested the item be referred <br /> back to the Planning Commission, who had ~ecomm~nded denial of the <br /> rezoning, so that a change in the plans for the property could be <br /> presented. Mr. Chatt moved second~d by Dr. Purdy to refer the <br /> item back to the Planning Commission. Motion carried. <br /> 4 d. Rezone to R-l and C-3P area north of Belt1ine Road on both sides <br /> of Tabor extended. Vik (64-121) -The request was to rezone that <br /> area north of the Belt1ine Road now zoned RA and C-3P to R-l <br /> Single Family (east of Tabor Street extended), and that area now <br /> zoned R-l to C-3P Commercial (west of Tabor Street extended). <br /> The Planning Commission recommended approval subject to the peti- <br /> tioner's agreeing to install proper screening at the time of con- <br /> struction, and upon dedication of an additional 10 feet of right- <br /> of-way along Holly Street. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr.Chatt <br /> to approve the re~oning subject to the screening and dedication <br /> requirements. Motion carried. <br /> 5 e. Variance to allow continued use for one year for real estate office <br /> at 3090 Harlow Road. Westward Ho (64-122) - Westward Ho had been <br /> I given a temporary permit to operate the real estate office at its <br /> present location (issued by Lane County with the expiration date <br /> of March 1960). The area was subsequently annexed to the City, and <br /> Westward Ho is now requesting permission to continue at this loca- <br /> tion for one year. The Planning Commission recommended approval <br /> of the variance for one year. Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Dr. <br /> Purdy to approve the recommendation. Motion carried. <br /> 6 f. Variance to allow wholesale petroleum facilities. Fletcher Oil. <br /> e 2574 Roosevelt Boulevard (64-125) - This variance from M-2 ~ight <br /> Industrial was requested to permit remov~l of an existing ware- <br /> house and retail gasoline pumps and the rebuilding for wholesale <br /> petroleum facilities. The Planning Commission recommended approval. <br /> of the variance. Mr. Deverell moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to <br /> grant the variance. Motion carried. <br /> 7 g. Variance to allow continuance of specialized nursery at 2280 Roose- <br /> velt Boulevard. Reid (64-124) - The Planning Commis~ion recommended <br /> approval of a variance as requested. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by <br /> Mr. Deverell the variance be granted. Motion carried. <br /> 8 h. Vacation Deerfield Subdivision. Eaton - Vacation was requested of <br /> the entire plat of Deerfield Subdivision except that portion of <br /> street right-of-way east of the east line of Lot 14 extended in <br /> I order that the subdivision could be rep19tted. The Planning Com- <br /> mission recommended approval. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. <br /> Deverell to permit the vacation as requested.
