Cascade Title Company - Cascade <br />Title Company had requested vacation of a portion of City View <br />Street from the south end of Wilson Street to the city park. The <br />Planning Commission and Public Works Department 'recommended ap- <br />proval of the vacation since Cascade Title Company had deeded to <br />the City a new right-of-way through Cascade's unplatted owner- <br />ship for access to the city park. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by <br />Mr. Anderson to a~prove the vacation. Motio~ car~ied. <br /> <br />5. Paving 'Highland Drive from Woodland Drive east to south boundary of <br />street; Cresta de Ruta from Highland Drive south to existing paving; <br />Woodland Drive from Highland Drive to south boundary of Malabar Hill <br />plat _Owners of 91% of the property abutting these streets peti- _ <br />tioned the paving, and Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to ap- <br />~rove the petition. Paving Potter Street from East Amazon Drive north to existing paving - <br />Owners of 33.4% of the property abutting this s~reet petitioned this <br />paving. T~e Public ~orks Department reported that an additional 10 <br />feet of right-of-way on the east side of the street would be necessary, <br />the owners of which did not sign the 'paving petition. The Department <br />also reported that the paving project would be desirable and open <br />Potter 'Street to East Amazon Drive and also eliminate a drainage <br />problem. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to approve the pav- <br />ing petition, providing owners of property on the east side of the <br />street provide the additional 10 feet of right-of-way. Paving Madison Street from 24th to 25th; 25th Avenue and 24th Place <br />from Jefferson Street to Madison Street - This paving was petitioned <br />by owners of 55% of the property abutting th~ streets. The Public <br />Works Department reported that two additional pieces of right-of-way <br />are needed to open 24th Place through to Madison. Dr. Purdy moved <br />seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve acquisition of the additional right- <br />of-way, cost of additional right-of-way to be added to the assessment <br />for paving, and proceed ~ith the project. Paving Arondo Court from Gilham Road to west - <br />property to be assessed petitioned this paving <br />seconded by Mr. Crakes to approve the project. <br /> <br />Owners of 100% of the <br />and Mrs. Lauris moved <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />9. Paving Flircrest Drive from south boundary of Victoria Heights to <br />north boundary of Hendricks Vista Addition - This paving was petitioned <br />by owners of 84.8% of the property abutting the street, and Mrs.Lauris <br />moved seconded b~ Mr. ~cNutt to approve the paving. Motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />10. Bid Opening Landscaping South Amazon Park. February 1. 1965 - A tabula- <br />tion of bids was presented for landscaping South Amazon Park. The <br />Parks Department recommended accepting the low bid of Lane County <br />Nursery for furnishing plants and planting for $5,455.85. Mr. Chatt <br />moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve the recommendation. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Dr. Purdy that Items 4a through 10 of the Committee report <br />be approved. Motion carried. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />11. Repayment Planning Funds HHFA. Bethel-Danebo Sewer - It was explained <br />that Lane County had received planning funds in the amount of $55,932.12 <br />from the HHFA for preliminary planning on sewers in the Bethel-Danebo <br />area before it was annexed to the city of Eugene. The agreement under <br />which these funds were advanced provided repayment to be made at the <br />time actual construction is started. The. Bethel-Danebo area has since <br />been annexed to the City, and ~he City has issued and sold bonds and has <br />started construction on the sewer system for whice the planning funds <br />were advanced. HHFA is now billing Lane County for $11,488."46" b.ase.d <br />on the proportion of sewer construction now underway. Since the area <br />is now within the City, and the work has been contr~cted by the City, <br />there is a question as to the responsibility for repayment of the plan- <br />ning funds. After discussion by the Council, Dr. Purdy moved seconded <br />by Mr. Anderson that the City pay the billing for $11,488.46. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to approve Item 11 of the Committee report. Roll- <br />call vote.
