Motion carried. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />Appointment Municipal Judge - Mayor Cone announced appointment of the following persons as <br />members of a committee to recommend names of three qualified candidates for the position of municipal <br />judge for the city of Eugene: Councilman R. G. Crakes; "Attorneys Hale G. Thompson, Ralph F; Cobb, <br />and Edward A. Butler; and Messrs. Raymond T. Ellickson, Wallace F. Kellogg, and V. Edwin Johnson. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />President's Conference on Natural Beauty - A letter was read inviting the Director of Parks and <br />Recreation to a conference in Washington, D. C., called by the President and to be held on May 24 and <br />25, 1965. The Director briefly explained that the purpose of the conference was to place emphasis <br />on stressing natural beauty in towns across the Nation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris that the Director of Parks and Recreation be sent to the <br />conference and that his expens~be paid by the City.
