The Tap. 1432 Orchard Street, new Retail Malt Beverage Class A was submitted by Jack Racely on April 26, 1965 and tabled to give residents of the area an opportunity to remonstrate if desired, and now brought back for consideration with no written protests on file. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris that the application be approved. Motion carried. 4 Appointment Municipal Judge - Mayor Cone announced appointment of the following persons as members of a committee to recommend names of three qualified candidates for the position of municipal judge for the city of Eugene: Councilman R. G. Crakes; "Attorneys Hale G. Thompson, Ralph F; Cobb, and Edward A. Butler; and Messrs. Raymond T. Ellickson, Wallace F. Kellogg, and V. Edwin Johnson. 5 President's Conference on Natural Beauty - A letter was read inviting the Director of Parks and Recreation to a conference in Washington, D. C., called by the President and to be held on May 24 and 25, 1965. The Director briefly explained that the purpose of the conference was to place emphasis on stressing natural beauty in towns across the Nation. I Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris that the Director of Parks and Recreation be sent to the conference and that his expens~be paid by the City. Motion carried.
