That much of the zoned area in the "City is rapidly being used, and the Council <br />and Planning Commission should rezone other areas to replace the areas used so <br />that additional land may be available. <br /> <br />b. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />3. Storm Sewer. Bar M Ranch Subdivision - Mr. Clair Adkins in"developing the Bar M Ranch <br />Subdivision had suggested he be permitted to construct a covered storm sewer through. <br />this subdivision at a differe~t tocatioQ and to replace the existing dr~in~~e channel~ <br />He proposed construction of a..rei-nforced: channel box of 4'x2~' ins'ide measurem~nts:at <br />his own expense, with the City reimbursing him about $12,000, since this would be a <br />trunk line storm sewer replacing the McKenzie Irrigation Drainage Channel. The Public <br />Works Department bad prepared' estimates of the costs for constructing the storm. sewer <br />using 54" pipe, 48" pipe, and the box-type structure proposed by Mr. Adkins; showing <br />the cost using pipe would be about half the cost for the box-type. The Department <br />recommended 3'x5' inside dimensions if a box-type s~ructur~ i~ used.. Dr~ Pu!dy moved <br />seconded by Mr.McNutt to approve City participation in a box-type structure,,3'x5', <br />to the tune of $15;000~ subject to' approval of the dimensions by the Soil Conserva- <br />t ion Service. Fruit Growers ~ The Eugene Fruit,Growers Association request a firm <br />commitme~t r~garding installation of sewers in the'Bethel-Danebo area for ~he pro-: <br />posed relocation of their plant~ The Public Works Department reported additional <br />construction on the system now being installed will be necessary, and that an immediat~ <br />change is ne~essary in the press~re line, trunk lines,C and D, .and:pu~p station~ , <br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded'by Mr. Lassen to refer the. item to. the Planning Commission <br />for a,recommenaation~ Motion carried. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />;5 <br /> <br />5. Widening Willamette south of 29th - T~e P~blic W?r~s pepartmen~ reportedJthat Willamette <br />Street had been'widened south of 29th Avenue a distance of 150 feet 'in conriection with <br />construction.of service station,and recommendedextendtrig the wideni~g another:235:feet <br />to the southat'an estimated cost to the City of:$1240. Dr. Purdy mov~d s~conded by <br />Mr. Hawk to approve the reoommendat~~n~ Motion carried. <br /> <br />6. Paving and Sanitary 'Sewer. Terrace"View'- Owners of 100% of property which would be <br />assessed petitioned these improvements" .Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by. Paving Oakmont from Oakway to Coburg - The owners of '100% of th~ abut~ing p~ope~ty peti- <br />tioned this paving and will have the paving'done under a private contract with developer,no <br />ass~ssment to other property owners i~v~~ved. D~. :Pu~dy moved seconded by Mr. Crakes:to <br />approve the petition. Motion carried~ <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve Items 4 thr-ough 7 of the Committee report. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />8. Workable Program. Housing Code Enforcement - The City Manager' stated a letter had been <br />received from the Hous~ng and ,Home ~inance ~gency regarding the r~comm~nded housing <br />codeinspectiori'by the City to support recertifica~ion of Eugene's Wo~kable Program. <br />A report on the proposed 'inspection program had'been sent to HHFA a~d r~sults of the <br />correspondence will be given at a later date.
