<br />2 2. Voters Pamphlet. Special E1ectionSeptemb'er 28. '1965 - ,Mr. C: .Dan Christens'en asked the,
<br /> City Council to issue a voters pamphlet for the'Sept'emoer 28, 1965 elec'tion. He 'stafed
<br /> that every ,v~ter in the City spould be g~v~~ all the information possible concerning
<br /> the issues '-, 'fluorides an,d spe'cial parkirig 'd'istrict - and that complete statements ex-, ,
<br /> p1aining each ballot measure should be placed in the pamphlet. The' City Manager ex- "
<br /> plained the estimated costs involved in printing and mailing approxi~tely ~2,700 pam-
<br /> phlets. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt to autliorize' the issual1ce ,-of ,the,

<br />3 3. Ordinance. Licensing Building Wreckers - The-City Manager presented copies of a proposed
<br /> ordinance requiring licensing of building demolition contractors, establishing rates for e
<br /> permits, regulating inspection, and requiring insurance or bond coverages. Mr. Kenneth
<br /> Slayton, speaking for Eugene Building Wreckers, stated the 'ordinance 'l.s the result of
<br /> several conferences between demolition contractors, construction contractors, ~nd City
<br /> officials. He stat:ed ,the group for which, he 'was speaking is in favor of the ord,:Luau'ce. -

<br /> Mr. Charles Porter, speaking on behalf of Mr. Rby Crowe, also in the building demolition
<br /> business, stated his client is not in favo~ of the ordinance. Mr. Porter stated he .
<br /> feels that if the City's Code regulations at the present time are enforced and closer
<br /> inspection provided, then the City has adequate coverage i~~his area~ After , ftirther
<br /> discussion by the Council with questions being answered by the City Attorney'and: Super-
