<br /> Adjourned meeting of the Common Council of the city of Eugen:e, Oregon- adjourned from the regular
<br /> meeting held October 10, 1966 - was called to order at 7=30 p.m. PDT on October 24, 1966 in the
<br /> Council Chamber of His Honor Mayor Edwin E. Cone with the following councilmen present: Mr. Hawk,
<br /> Mrs. Lauris, Messrs. Chatt, Purdy, Anderson, and Lassen (arrived at 8:30 pl;lm.). Messrs. McNutt
<br /> and Crakes were absent.
<br /> Minutes of the Council meeting held October 10, 1966, as mailed to Council members, were approved.
<br /> NEW BUSINESS
<br /> 1 Navy Day - Mayor Cone introduced Foster R. Anderson and Dr. T. A. Chuman who, on behalf of the
<br /> Eugene Chapter of the Navy League, presented the City with two pictures deptcting naval scenes to
<br /> e commemorate Navy Day on October 27, 1966.
<br /> 2 Parking Assessment District, 7th and Willamette - A petition was present,ed signed by owners of 60%
<br /> of the property which would be assessed, representing 66.5% of the vaiue, for formation of an assess-
<br /> ment district for a parking lot at the northeast corner of 7th Avenue and Willamette Street.
<br /> Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to refer the petition to the Planning Commission, to the
<br /> I Eugene Development Agency, and to the City Manager for a re~ort.to the Council at a later date.
<br /> Motion carried.
<br /> 3 Condemnation Sewer Easement, between Buck and Bailey Hiliat.14th - The Public Works Department re-
<br /> quested authorization for condemnation proceedings to acquire sewer easement on properties at this
<br /> location in the ownership of Charles and Cherry Marlow and C. W. and Gwen Rickabaugh to permit con-
<br /> struction of Bethel-Danebo Trunk Sewer C.
<br /> Mr. Hawk moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to authorize condemnation as requested. Motion carried.
<br /> 4 Sidewalk, 2555 Polk - A waiver of bid procedure was presented signed by Mrs. Jeanne S. Adams, owner
<br /> of property at 2555 Polk Street, together with a contract for construction of a sidewalk at this
<br /> address by William Christensen for $246.75.
<br /> Mr. Hawk moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to accept the waiver of bid procedure and award the contract
<br /> to William Christensen for $246.75. Rollcall vote. All 00 uncilmen present voting aye, motion carried.

<br /> limit lowered.
