<br /> concerning Laurelwood property. The City Manager said it had been discussed at staff level,
<br /> but no d'etermfna'tion will be made as to use of the golf course property pending readJust-
<br /> ment of boundaries between Springfield and Eugene school districts. When this decision is
<br /> made, there will be discussion with School Board 4 as to how to acquire the Laurelwood prop-
<br /> erty if it is not to be used for s'chool purposes.

<br /> 1. Planning Commission Report - October 24, 1966 ,
<br />2 a. Annex Lot 9, Block 4', 1st Additi6n 'Calbrook'(west 'of Satre and south of Bail~y Lane,
<br /> Archdiocese of Portland) - The Council had held a public hearing concerning annexa-
<br /> tion of this property on August 24, 1964 at which time an ordinance was passed dis-
<br /> pensing with election in the City, but the ordinance whic'h wo'u1'd have annexed the' e
<br /> property was hel,d pending a la-foot dedication for street right-of-way. The Pl,an-
<br /> ning Commission ~'now advises the require'd dedication has' been made and recommends
<br /> approval of the annexation. Mrs. Lauris moyed ,seconded by Mr. Lassen to ppoceed
<br /> with annexation. Motion carried.
<br /> Mr. Hawk moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve Item la of the Committee report. Motion carried.
<br /> 2. Planning Commission Report - November 1, 1966
<br />3 a. Rezone to C-3, 328 Willamette, Shirley - The Planning Director explained the Plan-
<br /> ning Commission had recommended denial of John 'Shirley's petition for rezoning this
<br /> area from M-2 primarily because oj its location in the prob~ble lst-4t~ connector
<br /> alignment north of the Southern Pacific tracks at the end of Willamette Street. A
<br /> recent North Central Eugene study included, this area as R-3G, and the Planning Com-
<br /> mission suggested that the property be rezoned R-3G at this time. Mr. Shirley-did
<br /> not wish the R-3G zone. Dr. ?urdy, moved seconded by Mr. Lassen to deny the request.
<br /> Motion carried. I
<br /> Mr. Hawk moved seconded by Mrs. -Lauris to approve Item 2a of the Committee report. Motion carried.

<br />4 b. Amend Zoning Ordinance, Front ~~rd 'Parking in R-3 and R-4 Zones - As a result of a
<br /> recent request for rezon~n~ in the 2900 block on South .Willamette in order to elimi-
<br /> nate front yard parking in that' area, the Planning Comm~ssio n recommended changing
<br /> requirements in all R-3 and R-4 zones to eliminate front yard parking within the
<br /> required setback. If automobiles are forced to back,into the street right-of-way, --
<br /> the setback will be increased to 20 fee~. Di. ,Purdy moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris
<br /> to approve the amendment. Motion carried.
