e 2.0~ 2/6/67 I 1 Public Transportation Councilman Purdy remarked on the possible need for a public transportation study, noting the need for public transportation to serve Parkview Terrace and the Celeste Campbell center. He asked for a staff recommendation as to whether an independent study should be initiated, or included with the Central Eugene Project. The City Manager said since the Mayor's annual message cited the need for action with regard to public transportation, he has been making inquiries concerning people quali- fied to make such studies. He said he has also been in contact with the Emerald Transportation System and their attorney concerning the possibility of extending bus service to Celeste Campbell Center. The Administrative Assistant reported a local' service organization is interested in pur- chasing a bus to serve Parkview Terrace and the Center. Mr. McNutt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to preceed with investigation of a public transportation study. Motion carried. ORDINANCES e 2 Council Bill No. 6927 - Levying assessments for sanitary sewer in area within 5th Addition to Echo Hollow Park, submitted and read the first time in full on January 25, 1965, and tabled. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt that Council Bill No. 6927 be taken from the table. Motion carried. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt that the bill be held for review by the City Attorney. Motion carried. 4 Council Bill No. 7815 - Levying assessments against DeNeffe Estate properties, 10th and Oak Parking Assessment District, was ls~bmitted and read in full. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt that the bill be read the second time by council bill number only, with unanimous consent of the Council.
