Wyatt's - Wyatt's Tire. <br />Shop re'quested permission to install an air pipe over this alley.to convey tire dust <br />f.rom ::.the snap .to a bin: to -'be located on their property south of the alley. The Pub- <br />lic Works .recommended . approval providing the pipe is installed at least 14 feet <br />above th~ ground and the franchise is reviewed annualLy. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt to approve the recommendation. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />3. Planning Commission Report:- January 16. 1967 <br />a; Front Yard Parking. R-3 and R-4 Zones - As a result :of. meeting with the Lane .County <br />Rental Property Owners Association, the Planning Commission recommended modifica- <br />tion of its previous zoning amendment with regard to front yard setback in R-3 and <br />R-4 zones. The revised iecommendation provides for'an average setback in-R~3 and <br />R~4 zones of 12 feet but in no case closer than 6 feet to the front property line, <br />with proper landscaping. If vehicle egress requires backing into 'apublic thorough- <br />fare, then the setback shall be a minimum of 20 feet from the front property line. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr.. McNutt to approve the modified amendment. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />b. Paving Width and Curb Sidewalk. Whitbeck from McLean to 28th - The Planning Commis- <br />sion.recommended, and the Public Works Department concurred, that paving width on <br />this street be 28 feet from curb to curb with no parking on either side, and th~t <br />a curb sidewalk be installed on the south side only. ~ <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt to approve the recommenda'tion. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />4. Planning Commission Report - January 23. 1967 <br />a. Sidewalk Waiver Sally Way - The Planning Commission recommended' denial of a peti- <br />tion from residents on Sally Way for waiver of requirement for sidewalk installation <br />on that street. The Planning Commission also recommended' that sidewalks be in- <br />stalled at the standard. setback location with allowance made for mea~dering around <br />large trees, and that five feet of right-of-way on each side of the ~treet be vacated <br />after the sidewalk are installed since only 50 feet of the 60-foot right-of-way is <br />needed. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris .moved seconded by Mr. McNutt to approve the recommendation. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />5.. Sidewalk Location. 23rd between Patterson and Hilyard. McKenzie Green - The Council <br />previously denied a reque'st for curb sidewalk 'at this location, and McK:enzie Green <br />is now requesting a rehearing. <br /> <br />I' <br /> <br />It was agreed to ~ehear th~ request. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />6. Bus Load:i;n~ Zone,:Willamette between Broadway and 10th - Because of .the remodeling of <br />thebuildi~ng .at the northwest corner of Broadway and Willamette, the ~bus loaqing zone <br />at tnat location was moved to between 'Broadway a~d 10th. 'The rem~deling is now com- <br />plete a.nd Council members were asked if they wish to leave the loading ~~me in the <br />new location or: move: it back to it.s original location. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt to leave the :bus zone at the new location. Motion carried. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />7. Liquor Licenses' Denied - Two letters from the State Liquor Control Commission were <br />prese'nted in which the Commission refused Package A 11censes. to Carl's Minit Mart, <br />2461 Hilyard Street, and to German Smoked Meats, 2655 Willamette Street. <br /> <br />The letters were noted and filed. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />8. Committee on Social Aspects of City Planning - A subcommittee of the, Community Goals <br />Committee recommended appointment of a permanent committee to attempt_to develop a <br />method of working a set of social. goals into overall community goals.' The subcommittee <br />indicated they felt a full-time committee is: needed to make. recommendations ,to the <br />Council and Planning Commission on social problems of the underprivileged, such as <br />educational, recreational, etc. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />No action was taken. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />9.
