Dr. Purdy moved <br />seconded by Mr. Anderson to approve Item 3 of the Committee report. Motion carried on rollcall vote, <br />all councilmen present voting aye. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />4. Paving Rocky Lane - Contract award for this project was held pending acquisition of <br />right-of-way from Ronald Allen. An appraisal placed a value of $350 on the property <br />needed. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to proceed with purchase and dedica- <br />tion. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson that Item 4 of the Committee report be approved. Rollcall <br />vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />5. New Subdivisions - The City Manager reported that during 1966 a total of 526 lots <br />had been served in new subdivisions, and that there are 496 proposed for 1967. <br /> <br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson that Item 5 be received and filed. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />6. Paving, sanitary and storm sewers, 9th Addition to Nob Hill - Petitioned by owners of <br />100% of property to be assessed. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to approve. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />7. Paving, sanita~y and storm sewers, 6th Addition to Echo Hollow Park - J. H. Sorenson, <br />owner of all of the property to be assessed, petitioned these improvements, and asked <br />that he be allowed to make them on private contract for part of the subdivision this <br />season, with the balance to be done next year. Mr. Lassen moved seconded by Mr.Ander- <br />son to approve. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />8. Paving Linnea Avenue and Tarpon Street, and sanitary and storm sewers in Linnea Park <br />and along east boundary of Linnea Park from Brewer Avenue to Minda Drive - Petitioned <br />by owners of 80% of abutting property for the paving. The Public Works Department <br />estimated cost of storm sewers at $8000 which would be assessed to property owners. <br />Right-of-way acquisition is necessary. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Lassen to <br />apprOl7 e. Motion carried. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />9. Paving Ingalls Way from Whitbeck Boulevard to Baker Avenue - Petitioned by owners <br />of 44% of abutting properties. The Public Works Department recommended inclusion <br />of this paving with the project on Whitbeck Boulevard. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by <br />Mr. Anderson to approve. Motion carried. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />10. Paving Hayes, 14th to 15th, and 15th, Grant to Hayes - This paving was delayed from <br />last year when paving of other streets in the area was initaited by the Council, <br />since it was felt acquisition of right-of-way for the West Amazon Parkway would <br />interfere with these two streets. The Public Works Department now recommends pro- <br />ceeding with paving Hayes and 15th because the Parkway construction will not be <br />accomplished for ~me time. Mr;Anderson moved seconded by Mr. Lassen to initiate <br />the paving. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to approve Items 6 through 10 of the Committee report. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />11. Paving Adams fr0m 3rd to Blair - Some discussion took place with regard to extending <br />the paving to Southern Pacific railroad, or confining it only to a one-block area <br />between 5th and 6th., It was explained that Council initiation would allow polling <br />of property owners and holding a public hearing, at which time size of the project <br />could be determined. Mr, Anderson moved seconded by, Dr. Purdy to initiate. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to approve Item 11 of the Committee report. Motion carried, <br />Mrs. Lauris voting no. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />12. Paving streets in area bounded by Chambers, Broadway, Garfield, and 11th - The <br />Public Works Department recommended improvement of unpaved streets in this area <br />during the coming construction season. Mr. Wingard moved seconded by Mr. McDonald <br />to initiate. Motion carried. <br /> <br />13. Paving 20th Avenue from Washington to Friendly and from Adams to Jackson - Recommended <br />by the Public Works Department for completion this year. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by <br />Mr. Anderson to initiate. Motion carried. <br /> <br />14. Paving streets in area bounded by Madison, 24th, Jackson, and 28th - Recommended by <br />the Public Works Department for construction this year. Mr. Lassen moved seconded <br />by Mr. Anderson to initiate the paving., Motion carried. <br /> <br />15. Paving Whitbeck Boulevard, 28th to McLean; and McLean from Whitbeck to Chambers - <br />Recommended by the Public Works Department for completion this year. Mr. Anderson <br />moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to initiate. Motion carried. <br /> <br />16. Paving Ferry from 32nd to 34th - Recommended by the Public Works Department for this <br />year.
