<br />17. Traffic, 32nd and Willamette and Donald - The Public Works Department recommenqed pr,o-
<br />hibition of parking on the east side of Willamette from 32nd north 140 feet, along,the
<br />west side of Willamette fro)Il north of ,32nd to south of 32nd for 245 feet, and a,t the
<br />southeasterry curb of Willamette from Donald southwesterly lpO feet to ease traffiG'
<br />movement at this intersection. It was also recommended to change present channeliza-
<br />tion markings as indicated on a ~rawing shown to Council members, with perman~pt
<br />raised asphaltic concrete markers to be installed when it is determined the pr~posed
<br />markings are satisfact:ory. The reconunendation. included installation of th~ee addi-
<br />tional 20,000 lumen mercury vapor street lights at locations sho~n on the drawing,. ' ,

<br />lS. Parking Restriction, Lincoln between 13th and 14th - John Allum, owner of Willamette
<br />Towers at 1~13 Lincoln Street, requested 2-hour parking restriction on the east side
<br />of Lincoln between 13th and 14th to acconunoqate the shops occupying ,the lower floor
<br />of the apartment building. The Public W~rks Depar~ment reconunended approval. Mr.Win-
<br />gard moved seconded by Mr.Anderson to install the requested 2-hour limit. Motion carried.

<br />19.Harlow Road Right-of-Way - The Public Works Department requested Council approval to
<br />purchase a 20-foot strip needed for widening Harlow Road for $1350. The property is
<br />f,rontage at. 2S,4lHarlow Road in tqe ownership of E. P. and Hazel Harlow. ,Mr.And~rson
<br />moved seconded by Mr. Lassen to buy the~property., Motion carried.

<br />4 20. Assessment, Deferment Trunk "c" B-D Sewers, Becraft-Eriksson - James Becraft has granted,
<br />the City a sewer easement plus a construction 'easement across property in his and Harry
<br />Eriksson's ownership north of lStp Avenue and west of Oak Patch Road. The easements
<br />wer.e granted with the understanding .assessment would :be deferred against that porti:on
<br />of their proper~y not abutting Oak Patch Ro~d until such time as .access is provided and
<br />the land subdivided. Mr. Lassen moved seconded by Dr. Purdy ~o defer the assepsment as
<br />outlined. Motion carried.

<br />5 21. Ordinance, [gnit ion Keys - A revised draft of. a proposed ordin.ance was read which w,ould
<br />now provide for issuance of a citation only if ignition keys are found in an unattended
<br />vehicle; the previous draft also provided for removal of the :keys. A Qail of $5.00 and
<br />maximum fine of $25 ~ 00 were~ recQ\Ilmended. Mr. Lassen moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to
<br />present the revised ordinanGe for passage. MOGion carried, ,Mr. McDonald voting no.

<br />John P. Hall, 2210 Lincoln Street, read a statement of protest to the Council~ and ~h~rles Potterf,
<br />26S5 Floral Hill Driye, objected to terms of the proposed ordinance.

<br />6 22. Audit Agreement~ Winn & Co. - ,An agreement was presented between Winn &:Co. and the Ci~y
<br />outlining services and rates proposed for audit of the City's records for 1966-67.
<br />Dr. Purqy moveq seconded by M~s. H~yward t~ approve the agreement.. Motion carried.

<br />7 23. Bids, Tree Removal, 2462 Pioneer Pike - A tabulation of bids wap submitted for tree
<br />removal from a sewer easement at 2462 Pioneer Pike. The cost will be i~cluded in the
<br />sewer assessment. It was reconunended the low bid be thrown out, since it was submitted
<br />by a City employe. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Lassen to award the contract to the,
<br />second low bidder. Motion carried.

<br />24. Stop sign, 37th and Donald - As the resu~t of a letter from Mrs. Merle Hockett,
<br />75 East 29th Place, manuaJ co~nts were made of traffic passing through the intersection
<br />at 37th and Don~ld where a stop sign exists jor traffic :traveJing south ~n Donald. .
<br />The Public Works Department reconunends removal of the stop sign and installation of a
<br />yield sign on 37th instead. Also, painting of crosswalks on 37th at the west margin
<br />of Donald and on Donald at, the ,south margin of 37th. It 'was decided that Coun,cil members
<br />would view the intersection,an,d residents :of th.e area wo~ld be notified when the, item
<br />is brought back to the committee.
