<br /> 3 Resolution No. 1448 - Authorizing abatement at 955 East 43rd Avenue (Sahlstrom-Lee-Schaffer)
<br /> was submitted and read in full.
<br /> A petition ,from several residents of the neighborhood and a letter from Bertha G. King, 4040'Di11ard
<br /> Road, were read requesting abatement of the building. ,'Henry Baitis said he could see no reason for
<br /> postponement of action on the abatement as requested by Elmer Sah1strom, since the ,'-other owner, Harvey
<br /> A. _ Schaffer, .coo ld have been present. I

<br /> Ron Schmaedick, 947 Hiwan Court, cited several hazardous conditions of the building and grounds be-
<br /> cause of neglect and said he. felt ample time was given for completion of the remodeling.

<br /> Thelma Fowler, attorney representing Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lee, sellers of the property, said they were
<br /> concerned, about not being able to do anything about the condition of the property without prejudicing
<br /> their rights in the pending Circuit Court suit filed by Mr., Sah1strom. The City Attorney advised the
<br /> Council that all legal steps with regard to holding the hearing at this meeting were met, and it was e
<br /> the Council's decision whether to postpone act ion.
<br /> Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to adopt the resolution. Rollcall vote. All councilmen
<br /> present voting aye, motion carried. -
<br /> 4 Resolution No. 1449' - Authorizing abatement- at 1255 Hughes Street (Scaddihg)~'W'as submitted and,
<br /> read in full.
<br /> It was explained the house was sold,:but the new owner was notified of the hearing to be held at this
<br /> meeting. The City Attorney advised going ahead withtheproceedings, giving the new owner extra time
<br /> to complete abatement.
<br /> Dr. Purdy moved seconded, by Mr .,' Anderson to adopt the resolution. Motion carried.
<br /> 5 Reso~ution No. 1450 - Granting easement to Bonneville Power Administration across Wa1terville
<br /> Canal property (Marion~Alvey No. 1 Transmission Line) (EWEB), was submitted and read in full. I
