Appointments, Masonry Board - James Bernhard, architect, 863 East 13th Avenue, and <br /> Richard Millhollen, building contractor, 263 Silver Lane, were recommended for ap- <br /> pointment as members of the newly created Masonry Board for bhree-year terms. Mr.McNutt <br /> moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to approve the appointments. Motion carried. <br /> The Assistant City Manager said Mayor 'Cone had previously designated Cecil Saxon,. masonry contractor, <br /> e as the third member of the Masonry Board. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt to approve the appointments. Motion carried. <br /> 2 16. Parking Prohibition, Bethel Drive - The Public Works Department recommended prohibition <br /> of parking on both sides of Bethel Drive between Allane Street and Morse Street. The <br /> prohibition is recommended to eliminate all-day parking by students attending Lane <br /> I Community College at the old Bethel School building. Mr. McNutt moved seconded by <br /> Mr. Anderson to approve the prohibition. Motion carried. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt that Item 16 of the Committee report be approved. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 3 17. Council Meeting~ November 13, 1967 - The City Manager asked the Council members regard- <br /> ing their wishes concerning the regular meeting in November, since the League of Oregn <br /> Cities will be in session November 12-14. It was agreed to hold the-omeet ing on Novem- <br /> ber 6, 1967. <br /> 4 18. Liquor License, Sam's Place. 225 West 7th - Copy of a l,etter, was presented from the <br /> Liquor Control Commission to George J. McKenzie denying his application for liquor <br /> license for Sam's Place at 225 West 7th Avenue. Mr. McKenzie's present operation <br /> is the Cosmo Tavern located in a building being purchased by the City in connection <br /> with the proposed 7th and Willamette parking facility. In this regardi the City <br /> Attorney informed the Council options probably would be ready for consideration at <br /> the October 9 Council meeting to acquire the Pratt building. <br /> 5 19. Junior League - The Council's attention was called to a brochure mailed by the <br /> Junior League of Oregon 'explaining the League's purpose, history, arid pro-j ec t s .
