I <br /> " <br /> RESOL UTIONS <br /> Mayor Cone was not present during consideration of resolutions, and Council President <br /> Purdy presided. <br />2 Resolution: No. 1475 - Traffic: Prohibiting parking Cross and,Railroad Boulevard; High between Broadway <br /> and 8th and tow-away zone; Almaden south of 7th; Garfield and Arthur between 14th and 18th; 18th east <br /> of Potter; and 3rd and High; and establishing two-way alleys between 5th and 7th, Willamette and Oak; <br /> was submitted and read infull. <br /> Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to adopt the resolution. Motion carried <br />3 Resoltition'No. 1476 - Authorizing submitting to voters at February 20, 1968 election Charter <br /> amendment providing for issuance and sale of general obligation bonds in the amount of $565,000 for <br /> Mahlon Sweet land acquisition and improvements (immediate), was submitted and read in full. <br /> Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mm. Lauris to adopt the resolution. Motion carried <br />4 Resolution No. 1477 - Authorizing submitting to voters at February 20,1968 election Charter <br /> amendment providing for issuance and sale of general obligation bonds in the amount of $1,050,000 <br /> for future land acquisition and expansion at Mahlon Sweet Airport was submitted and read in full. <br /> Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to adopt the resolution. Motion carried. 1 <br />5 Resolution No. 1478 - Authorizing submitting to voters at February 20, 1968 election Charter <br /> amendment providing for issuance and sale of $515,000 general obligation bonds for balance of purchase <br /> price of Laurelwood Golf Course and improvements was submitted and read in full. <br /> , , <br /> Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to adop t the r esolut ion. Motion carried <br /> Councilwoman Lauris asked if a citizens committee has been formed to campaign for passage e <br /> of the issues The City Manager said the Parks Director has a program planned and a com- <br /> mittee started, but will appreciate any help Council members can give. <br /> Mrs. Lauris also asked about legislation which would freeze proper~y taxes at their current <br /> l~vel for people over 65. The Manager said no bill was submitted to the Legislature, but <br /> it was mentioned at a recent tax seminar. <br />6 Resotution No. 1479 - Authorizing submitting to voters at February 20, 1968 election Charter <br /> amendment providing for continuity of City government in the event of disability of four or more <br /> Council members was submitted and read in full. <br /> Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to adopt the resolution. Motion carried. <br />7 Resolution No. 1480 - Authorizing submitting to voters at February 20, 1968 election Charter <br /> amendment:providng for mapped streets was submitted and read in full. <br /> Mr Anderson moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to adopt the resolution. Mot io n carried. I <br /> Councilman Lassen suggested talking to County officials with the idea of the County's <br /> adopting the same type of legislation. <br />8 Resolution No. 1481 - Transmitting to Planning Commission for January 2, 1968 hearing rezoning <br /> and variance requests (Council hearing January 22, 1968) was submitted and read in full. <br /> Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris tO,adopt the resolution.
