<br />. <br /> <br />18~ <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />5/13/68 <br /> <br />ORDINANCES <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1 Council Bill No. 8418 - Levying assessments for sanitary sewer within 160 feet east and west of <br />Monroe Street from 28th Avenue to 550 feet south, submitted and read in full the first time on <br />April 8, 1968 and held over to this meeting to allow proper notice of assessment to be given owners <br />of affected property, was brought back for consideration with no written protests on file. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mr. Lassen that the bill be read the second time by council bill <br />number only, with unanimous consent of the Council. Motioncarried unanimously and the bill was read <br />the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mr. Lassen that the bill be read the third time by council bill number <br />only, with unanimous consent of the Council. All councilmen present voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered 15269. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />Council Bill No. 8422 - Levying assessments for miscellaneous sidewalk repairs, submitted and <br />read the first time in full on April 8, 1968 and held over to this meeting to allow proper notice of <br />assessment to be given owners of affected properties, was brought back for consideration with no <br />written protests on file. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mr. Lassen that the bill be read the second time by council bill number <br />only, with unanimous consent of the Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Art Keith, 2311 Alders Street, protested assessment against property at 2479 Alder Street for <br />which he has a land sales contract. Assessment bill was sent to the owner of the property a year ago, <br />and since that time the property has changed ownership several times. He did not feel he should be <br />held responsible for the bill and reltthe City had been lax in billing procedures. The Finance <br />Director explained the billing procedure for assessments of this type is done on a monthly basis and <br />reviewed the billing record on this particular assessment. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />~ <br />
