The City Manager <br /> l' said the design was worked out with the staff of School District 4 but has not been <br /> I <br /> i' approved by the Board. The cost is estimated at $20,000 of which the School Boarp has <br /> I <br /> , agreed to pay half. The Public Works Director explained construction details of the <br /> structure and its location, and said maintenance will be done by the City. Mr. Wingard <br /> I moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to approve the design. . <br /> I' <br /> I <br /> Councilman Purdy asked if a gate would be installed, and the Public Works Director <br /> replied that access is not planned at this time, but at a later date a gate in the <br /> school fence could be installed to be paid for out: of maintenance funds. Construction <br /> is expected to take about 90 days. Sanitary Sewer, Recently Annexed Area, Floral Hill Drive - This sewer was petitioned by <br /> owners of 40% of assessable properties, with 34% of the property, which would be assessed <br /> lying outside the City limits. Parking Prohibition and Lane Marking, Harlow Road - The Public Works Department recom- <br /> , mended prohibition of parking on both sides of Harlow Road from Coburg Road to Lydick <br /> Way to provide for four lanes of traffic. The Manager said that at this time traffic <br /> volumes do not demand parking probhition and lane marking east of. Lydick Way. Lansdowne requested deferral of sewer assessment in the amount of $638~62 against <br /> her property at this location which is completely landlocked and cannot be developed until <br /> the entire area is subdivided. Voter Pamphlet Candidate Listing - A report from the Finance Department was presented <br /> : explaining that the names of council and mayor candidates can be rotated on the list- <br /> , <br /> , ings in the voter pamphlet. However, it would cost about $450 to $500 because of <br /> time involved in sorting and keeping the pamphlets separate by wards so that council <br /> candidates' names will be rotated in those pamphlets' going to the wards from which <br /> the candidates will be elected. The Manager said the names are rotated on the ballot <br /> but in the pamphlets all are listed on one page in alphabetical order for each ward. <br /> Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Lassen to list the names in alphabetical order. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> '. <br /> ~ <br /> Mr. Lassen moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve Item 11 of the Committee report.
