Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to approve Item 13d of the Committee Report. <br /> <br />After some discussion regarding reason for extension of time and necessity for it, a vote was taken <br />on the motion as stated and motion carried. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />e. H.B. 1252 - provides time and one-half for all time worked over 40 hours per week. The <br />Council will study the bill for further consideration. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the proposed bill, present city policy and reasons for change. The Manager <br />pointed out that supervisory personnel now receive no overtime, and the Fire Department would be put <br />in a difficult position by adoption of this bill. <br /> <br />Mr. Teague moved seconded by Mr. Gribskov that~the~Council go on record opposing H.B. 1252. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Other: <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />1. Jail Addition, Approve Specifications and Plans - Plans for a proposed addition to the jail <br />have been prepared and have been approved by the County Commissioners, and presented to the <br />Council for authorization to call for bids. The Plans were shown to Council members, and <br />the Manager explained that the cost woiliilld be fifty to sixty thousand dollars. <br /> <br />Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to authorize calling of bids for proposed addition to <br />present jail. <br /> <br />Councilwoman Beal objected to improving the present facility, and asked about the possibility of <br />replacement. <br /> <br />Councilwoman Hayward explained that the Council had long been concerned about jail conditions and had <br />participated with the County in a study. It was the consensus at that time that the present facility <br />should be maintained until the voters approved financing to build the jail at another location. <br /> <br />Mrs. Beal asked that the Council request City and County Planning Commissions to report to the Council <br />with regard to possible locations for a new jail. Mayor Anderson suggested that admini~tration and <br />funding should be discussed prior to looking at locations. <br /> <br />Dr. Purdy <br />report to <br />City. <br /> <br />requested the City Manager to contact <br />the Council in the near future. This <br /> <br />the County and discuss this matter with them, and <br />should be a County project with assistance from the <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />\. <br /> <br />A vote was taken on the motion as stated and the motion carried. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />2. Segregation of Assessment, Ho1ger D. Berntzen - Staff recommends that the Council approve <br />a segregation of this assessment. <br /> <br />Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr.McDonald that the council approve a segregation of assessment for <br />Holger D. Berntzen, to'alloW"deferral of a lien of $2,230.28. A rollcall vote was taken on the motion <br />and all councilmen pnesent voting aye, the motion carried. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />3. Liquor License, New - Approved by Police Department. <br />Class A. Dispensers - Charter Oak Restaurant, Oakway Mall <br />Robert H.
