All councilmen present <br />voting aye, the motion carried. <br /> <br />Liquor License Applications approved by Police Department - Held over to meeting of April <br />28, 1969 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Liquor License Application denied by Police Department - the Falcon, 1953 Garden Avenue <br /> <br />Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mrs. Beal to deny the request of the applicant for a liquor license at <br />If <br />[953 Garden Avenue. <br /> <br />The Manager said he had received many letters protesting this 'application and had one in favor from the <br />applicant, which he read to the Council. He ~tated a petition against this location for a tavern had <br />been filed by persons in the neighborhood. <br />, <br /> <br />ft <br /> <br />Mr. Mohr commented he did not want ,the Council to be misinterpreted on this action to find out whether <br />a residential neighborhood would support a neighborhood tavern. The Council found a great deal of <br />opposition to it in this neighborhood, but the Council does not want to discourage development of neigh- <br />jborhood taverns in more commercially oriented areas. Dr. Purdy and Mr.- Wingard did not agree. <br /> <br />A vote was taken on the motion as stated. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Exception request, Williams Bakery - The Planning Commission recommended approval of an exception for <br />Williams Bakery to permit expansion of the existing bakery facility. Plans and financial involvement <br />were made prior to adoption of zoning ordinance and undue hardship would be created if this property <br />were denied its previous right. <br /> <br />Manager explained2that Williams Bakery has been planning this expansion for a number of years and were <br />Icaught by the change in requirements' in the new ,zoning ordinance. The Plann~ng Commission viewed the <br />'site and recommended the exception be granted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Mr. Wingard that this request be grant~d. Mr. Mohr abstained from voting <br />because of a. conflict of interest.
