Councilman Mohr felt the resolution had an imperfection, in that the word recreation, included in Ii <br /> II II <br /> ': <br /> II the Charter resolution, had not been included in the resolution. Dr. Puridy explained that this word ,I <br /> :1 was brought in to cover everything that might occur for which the Council might wish to use the I' <br /> II ,I <br /> " <br /> I: money. Ii <br /> il I' <br /> Ii I; <br /> EWEB Public Hearing, Discussion - Mrs. Beal commented that she was p~eas~~_with the ii <br /> II c. ;1 <br /> 'I results of the joint meeting of the Council with Eugene Water and Electric Board, but I. <br /> II 'i <br /> ., that she felt the Council, should co-sponsor the public hearings. II <br /> " <br /> ;! <br /> " Mrs. Beal moved seconded by Mr. Mohr to convey the gratification of the Council, and I: <br /> i: q <br /> ;: reiterate its desire to co-sponsor these public forums,.. !I <br /> :1 II <br /> I e <br /> ; ~ I <br /> II There was Council discussion on whether EWEB was not meeting the request of the Council <br /> " ,I <br /> II .in scheduling public hearings. It was Mr. Mohr's feeling,that_~E~~i~~~thro~gh use <br /> II <br /> .' <br /> ., of a court reporter, record questions of the public; and its answers, either now or il <br /> II <br /> !I in the future, to such questions. All statements,will be documented and made public II <br /> " <br /> I, record. I <br /> " <br /> I 1 <br /> ! <br /> I' <br /> " Mrs. Jane Novik and Mr. Paul Koblas, asked that the Council consider co-sponsoring I <br /> 'i Ii <br /> !: these hearings with EWEB so that the public may be assured of an unbiased hearing. They <br /> .' /I <br /> ! were still of the opinion that EWEB would use this forum to present its arguments in II <br /> ; ~ <br /> ,1 favor of nuclear electrical installations. They also felt that.various agencies having I, <br /> Ii .1 <br /> control over development of the. comr.nunity should be included in this discussion. Mayor :1 <br /> :1 Anderson commented that, so far as the Council is concerned, their request has been Ii <br /> I' :1 <br /> II fulfilled, and that the matter will be put into the.public record.
