Motion carried unanimously. <br /> d. 18th from Hilyard to Chambers (Striping for turn lanes) - Parking restrictions recommended <br /> by Traffic Engineer will allow necessary turning lanes at intersections on West 18th. <br /> Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mrs. Beal to approve the recommendation of the Traffic <br /> Department for striping for turn lanes on Eighteenth Avenue. Motion carried. <br /> e. East-West Alley between 6th and 7th, High to Pearl - Traffic EngineeF recommends traffic <br /> in this alley be one-way westbound. <br /> e Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to approve the recommendation of the Traffic <br /> Engineer regarding movement of traffic in the alley between 6th and 7th, High to Pearl. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 4. Amendments to By-laws, National League of Cities - Nati,onal League of Cities submitted <br /> five proposed amendments to the by-laws and have asked .for a vote on each of the amendments <br /> I Manager read proposals to Council, and said executive committee recommends amendments. <br /> A copy 9f the proposal has been sent to the Council previously,. and there is nothing in the <br /> ~ recommendations that might be considered controversial. Approval of the proposed amend- <br /> ments is recommended. <br /> Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to approve the proposed amendments to the by- <br /> laws of the National League of Cities, based upon the recommendation of the City Manager. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 5. Correspondence <br /> a. Resignation of Gordon Cottrell, Assistant Municipal Judge - Manager read a tetter of <br /> ,resignation from Mr. Gordon Cottrell. <br /> Mrs. Hayward-moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to accept the resignation of Judge Cottrell, <br /> wi th thanks, and ask the City Manager to write a letter of commendation to him. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> ,', <br /> - <br /> b. -~Spfingfield concurrence on area~wide'highway priority procedure.- A letter was read . - .I <br /> f:i:"om the Springfield. City Council concurring with the city of Eugene's recommendation . . <br /> that priorities for highway funds be established on an area-wide basis. <br /> Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to receive and file Item 5b of the <br /> committee report. Motion carried. <br /> 6. Bid Opening, Hendricks Park - Bids were opened July 7, 1969 for Hendricks Park Comfort J <br /> I Station. A small area will be opened up for picnic area, and will be partially supported <br /> by Federal Funds and land and water conservation fund. Low bid was submitted by McVay- <br /> Construction for $10,522.00. Recommend award to low bidder. <br /> Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to accept the low bid for comfort station for <br /> Hendricks Park. Rollcall vote.
