<br />pumper fire truck and the low bid was for a Mack fire truck. The supplier has been notified
<br />of impending price increases and has indicated in his bid his willingness to provide two
<br />trucks at the same price, one to be delivered early in 1971, to be billed after .fiscal year
<br />1971-72 starts. This would give an opportunity to budget for a truck in that year. As muc~
<br />as $4,000 could be saved by buying two on the same bid. If budgeting proves impossible for
<br />the second truck, the order could be withdrawn.

<br />Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Mr. Teague to authorize purchase of two fire trucks under
<br />conditions outlined by the City Manager.
<br />
<br />Councilman Williams asked if the unit to be delivered in 1971 might be .different from one
<br />which could be purchased in 1971. Mr. McKinley said he did not believe fire trucks changed
<br />models every year. He explained that one truck was budgeted for this year, and capital
<br />improvemen~s project provides for another in 1971-72.
<br />
<br />Rollcall vote was taken. All councilmen voting aye, the motion passed.
<br />
<br />Bids, Building Department Demolition = Manager explained that no award is necessary for Item
<br />1, since the building is being demolished by the owner. Under bids 2, 3, 4, and 5, staff rec-
<br />ommends award to owner for demolishment. Item 6, staff recommends. rebidding in summer, when
<br />the ground is _dry. Bid was high because of trouble reaching the building in wet weather.
<br />
<br />Mr. McDonald moved seconded by MR. Teague to accept recommendations for awarding of bids..
<br />Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, the motion carried.

<br />Bids, Air ConditiNning Public WMrks wing and Planning Office - This years budget provides
<br />for another air conditioning unit for City Hall. The building was originally designed for
<br />four air conditioning units. Low bid for unit for public works wing was submitted by Harvey
<br />and Price Company.. Alternate bid was requested for Planning and Health. Recommend award
<br />only for public works area, since only $10,000 was budgeted.

<br />Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Mr. Teague to approve the bid of Harvey and Price Company
<br />for $10,890 for air condhioning for Public Works Department wing. Rollcall vote; All
<br />councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. .
<br />
<br />A letter was received in the Manager's office indicating the agreement between Clifford
<br />E. Shirley and Nils B. Hult for :transfer of interest in the overpark has been rescinded.
