Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Mr. Teague that the bills as presented and read be allowed, and the
proper city officials authorized to draw the necessary warrants.

In answer to Councilwoman Hayward's question, the City Manager said that when the City agreed to
subsidize the Emerald Transportation System for the months of June and July, a contract was worked
out whereby the City would provide funds May 1 and June 1 to cover the deficit and !;o__ a1Tow:~J:1e:
buses to continue to operate during those two months. At the end of that time an accounting'wil1
be made and the excess returned. In answer to Mrs. Hayward, the Manager said neither the County nor
the city of Springfield have contributed any funds. Lane Community College has contributed funds.

In answer to Dr. Purdy, the City Manager said that the preliminary calculations' indicate the amount
contributed by the city is more than necessary and that there will be a refund.

All councilmen present voting aye, the motion carried.
