'The City Attorney has now reworded the ordinance, and has recommended that it be given three readings, in view of the extent of the rewording. Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Mr. Teague that the bill be read the second timebpy council bill number only, with unanimous consent of the Council. I ~ I Mr. Dean Owen, 1625 Elanco Lane, said he was speaking as president of the Lane County Muscular Dystrophy Association and was concerned with Section 7 of the proposed ordinance. He felt entertainment should b~ included in the 20% allowed for expenses, and felt the section could be better drawn. !' With regard to telephone solicitation, he felt provision should be made for requirement of personal " contact following this type solicitation. Mayor Anderson explained that a public hearing had been held at a previous meeting on this ordinance, and that the matter of entertainment expense had been discussed at that time. He explained to Mr. Owen that the proposed ordinance was new, and could be amended if it was found that portions were not " satisfactory. i Councilman Teague suggested that the Council might work toward State legislation of this type activity., I I: Mayor Anderson thought it might be well for the Council to consider this part of its legislative program. Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Mr. Teague that the resolution be adopted. Motion carried. - , " Resolution 1865 - Requesting support of United States Congress for passage of National Air I Quality Standards Act was neither read nor acted upon, since it was declared moot. Congress had I already passed the requested legislation. Resolution 1866 - Supporting action of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education in posting a e $5,000 reward re: damage done to Prince Lucien Campbell Hall on U. of O.
