This was felt to be a good suggestion. <br /> I: <br /> In answer to further concerns, City Manager explained that the County Commissioners felt <br /> I' the transfer was necessary to assume liability for development and to be in a position to <br /> " <br /> II <br /> : make decisions regarding planning. <br /> iI <br /> Ii Mr. Maurie Jacobs, chairman of the Advisory Committe~, explained the CORmllttee recommenda- <br /> Ii <br /> " tions and that this body was representative of the entire community. <br /> :1 <br /> II <br /> Ii Mayor Anderson 'pointed out that, in looking ahead, it was likely the County would assume <br /> " responsibility for all regional parks, of whi ch Al ton Baker would be one. <br /> !\ <br /> Mr. Robert Adair was concerned that the County might not have the same control over the <br /> I; <br /> landfill operation as the city would have if it retained ownership, and that this might <br /> Ii be a detriment to the park. Mayor Anderson explained why the park was considered regional <br /> and that it should be under county jurisdiction. !i <br /> I <br /> II Mr. Adair asked to submi t his name for consideration for appointment to the Advisory <br /> Ii <br /> Ii Commi ttee. <br /> Ii <br /> There was further discussion about parks in ,the area, and which of them would be <br /> Ii considered regional., --, <br /> " <br /> Ii 'I <br /> '. . <br /> :1 In answer to a suggestion that the city manage the entire facility, the Manager explained <br /> " that the county has more financial flexibility.
