'Tree Planting, South Willamette - Councilwoman Campbell suggested that the <br />'parks Department be encouraged to undertake any tree planting program which <br />would improve the appearance of Willamette Street between 23rd and 29th. This <br />iwas in resonse to memo from the Parks Department indicating a tree planting <br />.prdgram at this time is not on a priority list; if a list were to be made this <br />:would be one of the last in relation to other areas. Street trees in other <br />iareas have been planted at the expense of individual property owners. The <br />;Parks Department is involved only with maintenance. Police Holds, Sacred Heart Hospital - Copies of report from Assistant City Manager , <br />together with interim agreement between Eugene, Lane County, and Sacred Heart were ' <br />previously distributed to Council members. The agreement covers understanding ! <br />.between staffs of the three agencies with regard to handling of mentally ill I <br />people charged with criminal activity. Manager said there has been no final long- I <br />range solution since the Hospital announced it could no longer accommodate these . <br />people brought in by police however, as evidenced by this report, progress is being <br />'made.
