All Council members present voting aye, ,except <br />C6uflcilman Williams abstaining, the bill was declared passed and' numbered 17105. <br /> <br />G: Open Space Land Designation <br /> <br />Area on south side of 30th Avenue east of Agate Street (Nob Hills Homes Association) <br />Recommended by Planning Commission on May 7, 1974 to preserve the timbered undeveloped <br />aspect of a triangular parcel owned by the Nob Hills Homes Association. By so doing, <br />taxation would not be so great as to force development. <br /> <br />Public hearing was held with no testimony presented. <br /> <br />Mr. Williams moved seconded by Mr. Hershner to approve the Open Space Land <br />designation as recommended. <br /> <br />Councilwoman Campbell wondered about the effect the designation would. have on possible <br />future assessments if sidewalks were installed. Manager replied that the property <br />under discussion was behind those abutting the street so would not be assessed for <br />any future improvement in that area. <br /> <br />Councilwoman Beal inquired about the difference between tax rates for open. space land <br />and ordinary residential property. Manager answered that it would probably depend upon <br />the value placed by the County Assessor. This property if designated as open space <br />land would be assessed as open space rather than as developable land.
