Change to Pk3 in the Parking Section <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved, seconded by Ms. Ehrman, to approve the <br />recommendation of the Eugene Planning Commission to change Pk3 <br />(Page 5 of the TransPlan to: <br /> <br />Investigate the possibility of changing the building and <br />parking codes to promote alternative modes and transit usage <br />by reducing the minimum number of parking spaces. <br /> <br />Ms. Wooten opposed the motion. She said the benefits of changing the City <br />codes so that surface parking spaces are used more efficiently has been proven. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen said efforts to reduce parking spaces do not work because people <br />park on someone else's property. He said it has happened in the Sacred Heart <br />area. He supported the Planning Commission recommendation which indicated <br />reductions in the codes should be "investigated." <br /> <br />Roll call vote: the motion carried 5:3 with Mr. Holmer, Ms. <br />Bascom, Ms. Schue, Mr. Hansen, and Mr. Miller voting aye and Ms. <br />Wooten, Mr. Rutan, and Ms. Ehrman voting nay. <br /> <br />L.
