She suggested the council send a letter
with the ordinance indicating that the ordinance may be changed.

Ms. Wooten said the task force discussed Ms. Ehrman's suggestion and did not
recommend it.

Answering a question from Ms. Schue, Mr. Potter said the task force vote on
the recommendation concerning notification was 7:4.

Mr. Bennett said the existing ordinance causes a dilemma and his
interpretation of the council's direction is that the existence of the
ordinance is not a reason for implementing certain provisions. He said he
understands that the council's direction to the task force is to address the
specific issues in the written charge. He said those issues involve more than
technical legal issues. He said he would like the council charge to the task
force reaffirmed or changed.

Ms. Wooten said she hoped to discuss the matter in a week or two, and
Mr. Bennett responded that he is willing to discuss it later.

e

Ms. Schue moved, and Mr. Rutan seconded, to table the
motion.
