RESOLUTION PLACING ADVISORY QUESTIONS CONCERNING A NUCLEAR FREE <br />ZONE ON THE MAY 17 ELECTION BALLOT <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Manager Mike Gleason introduced the item. Glen Potter of the <br />Intergovernmental Relations Division presented the staff report. He said <br />the resolution would formalize the council decision of January 27, to <br />call for an advisory vote on the nuclear free zone issue. He said the <br />resolution would place two questions on the May 17 ballot, and those <br />questions were included in exhibits 1 and 2, which had been distributed <br />at councilors' places. Mr. Potter said the resolution also would declare <br />in Finding 3 the intent of the council to adopt the type of nuclear free <br />zone ordinance, if any, favored by voters in the advisory election. <br /> <br />Res. No. 4078--A resolution of the City of Eugene, Lane <br />County, Oregon calling a special election <br />to submit advisory measures on a City of <br />Eugene Nuclear Free Zone to the voters of <br />the city. <br /> <br />Ms. Ehrman said she had not been present at last Wednesday's meeting, <br />when the council had voted on the issue. She said she would vote in <br />favor of the advisory election, but she would have voted against <br />resubmitting the issue to voters. <br /> <br />Roll call vote; the motion carried unanimously, 8:0.. <br /> <br />VIII.
