No. 3636--A resolution authorizing street paving and sidewalk <br />construction on Sycamore Avenue from Adams Street <br />(2029). <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Ms. Miller, to adopt the resolution. <br />Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. Woodside Drive (affected property on petition--assessable costs: <br />paving--total front footage/front footage petitioned: 218 feet, <br />100 percent; sidewalk--total front footage: 124 feet; front footage <br />petitioned: 109 feet, 88 percent; City cost: none) <br /> <br />Res. No. 3637--A resolution authorizing street paving and sidewalk <br />construction on Woodside Drive for approximately <br />280 feet west of Longfellow Way to approximately <br />400 feet west of Longfellow Way (2020). <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Ms. Miller, to adopt the resolution. <br />Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />III. DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TAX MEASURE (memo, resolution distributed) <br /> <br />Mr. Gleason stated that this was dealt with by the Budget Committee last night, and <br />it sets a levy for the Downtown Development District. <br /> <br />Res. No. 3638--A resolution referring Measure No. 51 to the legal <br />voters of the city of Eugene authorizing a tax of <br />$186,667 outside the Constitutional six-percent <br />limitation on ownership of real property in the <br />Downtown Development District only, and not else- <br />where in the city, for operating expenses of the <br />district July 1, 1982, to June 30, 1983. <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Ms. Miller, to adopt the resolution. <br /> <br />Mr. Lindberg stated that this is not a tax to the public, only on the Downtown <br />Development District, and has been previously approved by them. Mr. Gleason <br />added that this is for downtown parking and is not an additional tax. Ms. <br />Miller stated that she would like to know if the Downtown Development Board is <br />reviewing the free parking program. Mr. Gleason stated that they are negotiating <br />with the property owners, and that there is an active desire to review it. <br />Currently, parking is tied up with housing, professional offices, and retail <br />businesses.
