Paul Edgecomb, 210 Cheshire Street, said that the requested RA zoning would allow development of the site as a park and that this development could not ~ occur under the existing M-2 zone. There being no further testimony, public hearing was closed. CB 2453--An ordinance authorizing rezoning from M-2 Light Indus- trial District to RA Suburban Residential District for property located east of Highway 99, northwest of Edison Street. Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, that findings supporting the rezoning as set forth in Planning Commission staff notes and minutes of March 2, 1982, be adopted by reference thereto; that the bill be read the second time by council bill number only, with unanimous consent of the council; and that enactment be considered at this time. Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously. Property located west of Chambers, on the north side of West Broadway, from RG/SR Garden Apartment Residential District with Site Review procedures to M-2/SR Light Industrial District with Site Review procedures (Dutch Girl Ice Cream Company) (Z 82-3) (map, background information distributed) Mr. Gleason introduced Jim Croteau, Planning. Mr. Croteau said that the subject property is located northwest of the corner of Broadway and Chambers Street. He said that the request was submitted on behalf of the Dutch Girl Ice Cream Company, which owns the M-2-zoned property to the west and north of the subject site. Mr. Croteau said that the requested change would allow expansion of that business. He said that the properties to the south and east of the site were zoned and developed residentially. Mr. Croteau said that the Planning Commis- sion unanimously voted to recommend approval of the request. No ex parte contacts or conflicts of interest were declared by councilors. Staff notes and minutes were entered into the record. Public hearing was opened. There being no public testimony, public hearing was closed.
