<br />Paul Edgecomb, 210 Cheshire Street, said that the requested RA zoning would <br />allow development of the site as a park and that this development could not <br />~ occur under the existing M-2 zone. <br /> <br />There being no further testimony, public hearing was closed. <br /> <br />CB 2453--An ordinance authorizing rezoning from M-2 Light Indus- <br />trial District to RA Suburban Residential District <br />for property located east of Highway 99, northwest of <br />Edison Street. <br /> <br />Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, that findings supporting <br />the rezoning as set forth in Planning Commission staff notes <br />and minutes of March 2, 1982, be adopted by reference thereto; <br />that the bill be read the second time by council bill number <br />only, with unanimous consent of the council; and that enactment <br />be considered at this time. Roll call vote; motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Council Bill 2453 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, that the bill be approved <br />and given final passage. Roll call vote. All councilors present <br />voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered 18957 <br /> <br />3. Property located west of Chambers, on the north side of West <br />Broadway, from RG/SR Garden Apartment Residential District with <br />Site Review procedures to M-2/SR Light Industrial District with <br />Site Review procedures (Dutch Girl Ice Cream Company) (Z 82-3) <br />(map, background information distributed) <br /> <br />Mr. Gleason introduced Jim Croteau, Planning. Mr. Croteau said that the subject <br />property is located northwest of the corner of Broadway and Chambers Street. He <br />said that the request was submitted on behalf of the Dutch Girl Ice Cream <br />Company, which owns the M-2-zoned property to the west and north of the subject <br />site. Mr. Croteau said that the requested change would allow expansion of that <br />business. He said that the properties to the south and east of the site were <br />zoned and developed residentially. Mr. Croteau said that the Planning Commis- <br />sion unanimously voted to recommend approval of the request. <br /> <br />No ex parte contacts or conflicts of interest were declared by councilors. <br />Staff notes and minutes were entered into the record. <br /> <br />Public hearing was opened.
