AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE PROPERTY FOR PARK PURPOSES UNDER AUTHORITY OF <br />EMINENT DOMAIN: PROPERTIES LOCATED 1) NORTH OF BARGER nRIVE AND WEST OF <br />HIGHWAY 99N (GRAVILLE PROPERTIES) AND 2) IN THE RIDGELINE, OFF RIDGEWOOD <br />DRIVE (WOOD PROPERTY) (memo, map distributed) <br /> <br />CB 2466--An ordinance authorizing the institution of proceedings <br />in eminent domain for the acquisition by condemnation of <br />property for park land; and declaring an emergency <br />(Graville--parcel number 1). <br /> <br />Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, that the bill be read the <br />second time by council by council bill number only, with unanimous <br />consent of the council, and that enactment be considered at this <br />time. Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilor Hamel explained that throughout his term on the council he had opposed <br />institution of proceedings in eminent domain against people who did not want to <br />sell their property. He said he would therefore vote against CB 2466 and CB 2467, <br />dealing with the Graville parcels, on the second reading. <br /> <br />Council Bill 2466 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, that the bill be approved <br />and given final passage. Roll call vote.
