REVISIONS TO APPOINTMENT PROVISIONS FOR CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT COMMITTEE <br />(memo, ordinance distributed) <br /> <br />Mr. Gleason introduced Terri Vanderpool, Planning Department. Ms. Vanderpool <br />said the Citizen Involvement Committee would like to request a revision to the <br />appointment provisions for the CIC, in order to provide a more orderly process <br />for election of officers and the development and implementation of its annual <br />work program. They would like to increase the term of the neighborhood leaders <br />representative from one year to two years. They would also like to change the <br />expiration date of the citizen-at-large members' terms from June 30 to December <br />31 of their respective years of appointment. <br /> <br />CB 2486--An ordinance concerning the Citizen Involvement Commit- <br />tee, amending Section 2.013 of the Eugene Code, 1971; and <br />declaring an emergency. <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, that the bill be read the <br />second time by council bill number only, with unanimous consent <br />of the council; and that enactment be considered at this time. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council Bill 2486 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, that the bill be approved <br />and given final passage. Roll call vote; all councilors present <br />voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered 18988 <br /> <br />e v. ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION PROGRAM--MONTHLY STATUS REPORT (memo and <br />background information distributed) <br /> <br />Mr. Gleason introduced Carol Baker and Terri Vanderpool. Ms. Baker explained <br />the June activities for Focus Month for Economic Diversification. She reviewed <br />the events which included speeches by councilors, the Mayor's State of the City <br />Address, lunch with news people, public comments taken by council, displays, and <br />final review by the council. <br /> <br />Ms. Vanderpool explained that Phase 1 of the Development Assistance and Infor- <br />mation Center opened on March 15, and that plans for future phases of the center <br />are in progress. Future phases will be implemented largely through the use of <br />existing and proposed computerized systems. She illustrated examples of the <br />capabilities of existing and proposed systems, noting that many of the pieces to <br />the system are available to users because of the shared data system in place in <br />the metro area (Regional Information Systems).
