<br />.~ <br /> Councilor Schue expressed her delight at Ms. Chambers' gift and at the support <br /> for local arts organizations. She said she was pleased at the request to have <br />- the council honor the Silvas by naming the concert hall Silva Hall. Counc i lor <br /> Smith added that this was a most fitting tribute to the Silva family and a <br /> great benefit to local arts groups. Councilors Hamel and Obie added their <br /> appreciation. Mayor Keller expressed the appreciation of the council and of <br /> the citizens of Eugene for this generous gift. <br /> Res. No. 3715--A resolution naming the concert hall in the Eugene <br /> Performing Arts Center. <br /> Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, to adopt the resolution. <br /> Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mayor Keller took over the chairing of the meeting. <br /> D. Announcements <br /> 1. Financial Planning Committee meeting date <br /> Mr. Whitlow said that the Council Financial Planning Committee would meet at <br /> 5 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 1982. <br /> 2. Contract with International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage <br /> Employees and Motion Picture Operators (IATSE) <br /> Mr. Whitlow introduced Bruce Mulligan, Employee Relations Manager. Mr. Mulligan <br />- saia that, as a result of the opening of the Performing Arts Center, the City <br /> had entered into relations with a new bargaining group, the International <br /> Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees and Motion Picture Operators (IATSE). <br /> He said that relations had gotten off to a good start, with a contract agreement <br /> that will carry the City through June 30, 1983. He said that the contract was a <br /> flexible one that should permit innovative operations. Mr. Mulligan introduced <br /> IATSE representative Marvin Ramsay. Mr. Ramsay said that he was pleased with <br /> the contract settlement and that the City had been a pleasant group to bargain <br /> with. He noted, however, that IATSE local members have yet to ratify the <br /> agreement. <br /> 3. West University Neighbors Community Street Fair <br /> Mayor Keller said that Councilor Lindberg had asked him to announce that on <br /> Saturday, September 18, 1982, the West University Neighbors, the University <br /> Small Business Association, and the Eugene Department of Parks and Recreation <br /> will hold a community street fair. Mr. Lindberg invited councilors to attend <br /> this event. Mr. Whitlow said that the City would have a booth at the fair and <br /> that Mr. Lindberg would be contacting councilors for help in staffing that <br /> booth. <br />e <br /> MINUTES--Eugene City Council September 8, 1982 Page 2 <br />
