RESOLUTION CONCERNING OREGON BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT FUND <br /> Mr. Gleason introduced Bill Sloat, Business Assistance Team, who explained that <br /> in order for a business to apply to the Oregon Business Development Fund for a <br /> loan it was necessary for the local jurisdiction -- in this case the City of <br /> Eugene -- to approve a resolution acknowledging the appropriateness of the <br /> transaction between the State of Oregon and the local business. <br /> Mr. Gleason said that staff recommends adoption of the resolution. <br /> Res. No. 3791--A resolution approving the Oregon Business Development <br /> Fund project proposal of Color and Herbal Works, I nc. <br /> Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to approve the resolution. <br /> Councilor Holmer stated his intention of voting against the resolution, because <br /> of insufficient notice of this item and the lack of information. <br /> Roll call vote. Motion carried 4:2, with Councilors Lindberg, <br /> e Schue, Smith and Hansen voting in favor, and Councilors Holmer <br /> and Ball voting in opposition. <br /> Counci 1 or Li ndberg stated hi s understandi ng that approval of the resol ution <br /> had merely indicated acknowledgement of the City Council's approval of the <br /> loan program, and not an endorsement of a particular applicant. <br /> Mr. Gleason said that staff would bring back a report as follow up to the <br /> council's concerns which would provide additional information on the program. <br /> The meeting was adjourned to July 20, 1983. <br /> (Recorded by Jo Alexander) <br /> JA:cj/CM26bll <br /> - MINUTES--Eugene City Council July 13, 1983 Page 6 <br />
