He referred to the letter submitted to the council, <br /> stating that he could add nothing to the statements presented in the letter, and <br /> expressed his willingness to answer any questions of the council. <br /> There being no further testimony, the public hearing was closed. <br /> CB 2679--An ordinance authorizing rezoning from 1-2 Light-Medium <br /> Industrial District to C-2 Community Commercial District <br /> for property located on the south side of 7th Avenue, <br /> east of Garfield Street. <br /> Mr. Lindberg moved, seconded by Ms. Wooten, that findings sup- <br /> porting the rezoning as set forth in Planning Commission staff <br /> notes and minutes of July 19, 1983, be adopted by reference <br /> thereto; that the bill be read the second time by council bill <br /> number only, with unanimous consent of the council; and that <br /> enactment be considered at this time. Roll call vote; the motion <br /> passed unanimously, 5:0. <br /> Council Bill 2679 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> Mr. Lindberg moved, seconded by Ms. Wooten, that the bill be <br /> approved and given fi nal passage. Roll call vote. All councilors <br />e present voting aye, the bill was declared passed (and became <br /> Ordinance No. 19177). <br /> .- <br /> 5. Property Located on the North Side of West 11th Avenue, extending <br /> from McKinley Street west past Conger Street from 1-2 Light- <br /> Medium Industrial District to C-2 Community Commercial District <br /> (JB2 Properties) (Z 83-12) (map attached; background infonnation <br /> under separate cover) <br /> Mr. Gleason introduced the agenda item. Ms. Jones, Planning, presented the <br /> staff report. She said that the application for rezoning involves 11 tax lots <br /> under four ownerships, adding that all of the parcels are presently developed <br /> with four restaurants, a paint store, small offices, an automobile repair shop, <br /> and a sign shop. She explained that the parcels were developed at a time when <br /> the 1-2 zoning allowed more commercial uses. She said the property is bordered <br /> on the north by 1-3 Heavy Industrial property and on the south of West 11th <br /> Avenue by a mixture of commercial and industrial uses. Ms. Jones said that the <br /> council will later be hearing an appeal of a zoning request for property owned <br /> by R. A. Chambers and located to the west of the subject property. She sai d <br /> that the Planning Commission voted unanimously on August 2, 1983, to recommend <br /> approval of the zone change. <br /> There were no statements of ex parte contacts or confl icts of interest.
