He said the Alton Baker Park Advisory Committee would be contacted <br /> to determine if they wanted the same rules applied to Alton Baker Park as in <br /> other Eugene parks concerning alcohol consumption. He said that he felt the <br /> committee would agree to that suggestion. <br /> CB 2694--An ordinance concerning parks; amending Section 2.812 of <br /> the Eugene Code, 1971; and declaring an emergency. <br /> Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Mr. Obie, that the bill be read <br /> the second time by council bill number only, with unanimous <br /> consent of the council, and that enactment be considered at this <br /> time. Roll call vote; the motion carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> Council Bill 2694 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Mr. Obie, that the bill be approved <br /> and given final passage. JOINT CITY COUNCIL/4-J BOARD MEETING AND PROPOSED TASK FORCE (memo <br /> distributed) <br />e City Manager Micheal Gleason introduced the agenda item. Ernie Drapela, Parks <br /> & Recreation Director, presented the staff report. He reviewed his memorandum <br /> of October 10 which outlined the proposal calling for a task force composed of <br /> two members of the 4-J Board of Directors and two members of the City Council, <br /> along with support staff. He said that the 4-J Board of Directors had approved <br /> the proposal and had appointed Paul Harrison and Mike Williams to serve on the <br /> task force, with Margaret Nichols as staff. He said the first meeting of the <br /> task force was scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on November 18, 1983. <br /> Ms. Schue moved seconded by Mr. Obie, to to form a joint task <br /> force with School District 4-J's Board of Directors and to appoint <br /> Mark Lindberg and Emily Schue as members of the task force. Roll <br /> call vote; the motion carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> Councilor Wooten said she found the previous joint meeting to be instructive and <br /> that the task force will have a full agenda to discuss, inCluding the issue of <br /> joint management of Parks & Recreation properties and other finance and revenue <br /> items. <br /> X.
